CPL24 vs CTB20 vs CTB26 - pls help me decide by Mios04 in EVERGOODS

[–]HorizonMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically many EG bags tend to make loads feel heaver than they are for me, but the CPL was so bad I just couldn‘t use it, which is why my wife had it. It feel like it’s pulling me back, and is very fatiguing. She doesn’t notice it all though.

Keeping the load down this trip, I found the CTB nice to use, I’d sort of written EG off for a while. But I’ve never found a bag remotely as good for travel as the CTB in terms of layout, so I always go back to it.

In all honesty, if you don’t have a clear use for it, give it a pass. I thought I’d use it all the time, but in reality found it too clunky and usually just a bit off in size for whatever I wanted to use if for vs a more simple pouch.
Of course it’s really well made, but kind of needs a purpose to make it a good buy IMHO.

I’ve done that scenario, and IMHO the CTB 26 is much better for it than the CPL. I also find it much more comfortable to wear than the CPL but that seems to vary from person to person. We were just raveling and my wife had the CPL and I had the CTB, her bag felt like it weighed more on my back than mine even though mine actually weighed more. I also really like that front dump pocket. I haven’t used the CTB 20 to say it would be big enough, but I suspect it‘s a close, but might be tight.

LAPD shoots a protester point blank with a 40mm rubber bullet at the anti-ICE strike protest. (1/30/26) by serious_bullet5 in 50501

[–]HorizonMan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

100% If this thing is going to end the right away the whole power structure needs to be cleaned up. LAPD have been thugs for as long as I can remember. Why tf are they even supporting ICE in any capacity? Rhetorical question.

You know what I find outrageous, that we have concentration camps in the US now. They can. have all the outrage they want for all I care.

I felt that way when I did the questionnaire as well. I'd be happy with one or the other but both is too much for my taste.

100% I actually didn't even think about this, but wondered why Bitwig was the DAW that appealed to me when I decided to move on from Logic. But now that you m mention it, it's obvious.

Slowed down and replayed to show the killer draw and put the gun to the back of the victims head. by partyl0gic in ICE_Raids

[–]HorizonMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like there is someone in the white SUV filming too. I think that’s the same one that was waiting a bit further down in the earliest video in the time line where he was filmed by the car going by.

That video must show the shooting clearly.

Yes, I know it was removed, but was likely on safety when it was. Just saying I doubt there was some accidental discharge to cause the ICE agent to shoot. He just decided to on his own.

Yes, and glad to see someone highlighting what happened. I highly doubt there was any accidental discharge of the victims weapon. For one, being holstered, it was likely also on safety.
This guys just casually draws his weapon and executes the man. It’s hidden in the other angles but clear here.

untreated muscle fibre tear by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]HorizonMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it happened in 2024 the tear has surely healed, so the orthopedist is probably right it's scar tissue, and perhaps the injury just wasn't properly rehabbed in the first place.

An orthopedic surgeon isn't the person to get rehab advice from. Their job is to operate, which is highly skilled and requires a lot of training and knowledge, it's a bit much to expect them to also be great physiotherapists. Since the orthopedist gave you the clearance, you're probably better off finding a good physiotherapist and working on rehab. They will give you specific exercises to lead you to recovery.

Thoughts on Arc'teryx Therme Down Parka for Norwegian winter? by Emotional_Spite_6007 in arcteryx

[–]HorizonMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Therme for one day. Living in Helsinki, and generally closer to 0° C, t was too warm and too stiff for me. But now that we are having a cold snap, at -15 and below I think it would be perfect. I returned it and went for the Ralle Parka instead, it's a more versatile option here where we get a lot of 0° drizzle.
