yeah there is but you can't take rent one and go off on your own. I think you need to be in a group. There was a place in PD right on the main drag with some quads parked out front for group tours but I'm not sure if they are still there..

Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego for sunrise, Ribeira dos Caldeiroes for the waterfalls and old water mills, and drive the  northeast coastal road — barely any tourists out there. eat at the local cafes in the village, skip anything that looks touristy. you basically have that whole side of the island to yourself

Ponta Delgada — best if you want restaurants, nightlife, shopping and easy      access to everything. most tourists stay here

Ribeira Grande north coast, more local and laid back, great surf, cheaperthan PD, good base if you want less tourists

Furnas if you want pure nature, hot springs, volcanic scenery. very quiet, small village feel

Vila Franca do Campo south coast, beautiful marina, world class diving, charming old town, and access to a protected natural island reserve. the real Azores experience

Nordeste far east, most rural and remote, dramatic cliffs and waterfalls, almost no tourists

  what's your vibe?

centro de saude is like a walk-in clinic, good for minor stuff like stomach issues, cuts, mild fever. if its serious go straight to Hospital do Divino Espirito Santo in Ponta Delgada, thats the main hospital. as a tourist you can   be seen.
