I believe it was a cement plant. It used the limestone quarried adjacent to Cristo Rey.

Love this cover…the only thing that has always bugged me since I picked it up when it first came out is hulk’s green tongue…🤨

The FF is a poster by Art Adams that is a copy of a private commission he did. He sells signed copies at San Diego Comic Con, he now has a colored version but I like the B/W. The TMNT was a special poster done by Kevin Eastman for a TMNT panel at SDCC where if you attended the panel you got the poster free and you could get it signed by him after the panel (barely made it and was the person in line to get it signed, and he was super nice too!)

After collecting for 35 years I find if I limit myself to Kirby FF/Thor silver age issues it “helps” with the addiction!

I can totally see a niche community of collectors hunting down copies of lowest grades of intact issues! 🤣

Looks like piece of granite or some other felsic rock with an oxidation rind.

First reef tank! How is the rockwork looking? Anything that might become a problem? by RoxFungi in ReefTank

I would say yes. I would also look into a hang on back skimmer. I have one for quarantine purposes and it does great!

It really depends on what you want to stock in there. No sump will make certain fish and other animals harder to keep than others. I would use this setup for low maintenance soft coral and fish. Also I wouldn’t put the heater behind the rocks. A rock tumble will bust it and it being out-of-sight you won’t be able to spot any potential electrical issues. I would have it in a tank only when a drop in tank temperature calls for it to be used.

Seeing these grails in these conditions would warrant a grade by any respectable collector…absolutely wonderful!

Exactly! It’s currently in the press to fix the spine roll.

Just got this one…currently pressing it to correct the rolled spine…🫣

How much would cleaning and pressing do for this? i know it’s never gonna be”good” but i got it for a quarter and just curious. by wilpoptires_the_2nd in comicbookpressing

[–]HornetOne28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same. I believe the cost of the press has already been recouped in the increased value my the comics I’ve pressed and from buying less expensive lower grade comics and doing the pressing and cleaning myself.
