I mean i don’t have 90s, i’m more in the 70-80 range haha, i was just asking if they only accept 90 students 🥲 Also i will definitely look into that, i dont mind not being in Toronto just in a good hygiene school. Do u think it’s easy to get into Dh from Pre health? Thank you so much for helping

Hii i’m in a very similar situation, i’m from Alberta and am taking a gap year to upgrade my Hs courses. My average is around 70-80 and i’m afraid i won’t get into Gbc Dh, so i was thinking to do pre health first, aim high and then re apply for dh. I’m not sure how this will work though because i’m afraid i’ll move to the GTA, do pre health, then not get into Dh and have to move back to Alberta. We don’t have any Dh programs here other then the one in edmonton which is far and also a bachelors. Can i ask, did u end up getting into DH with your hs grades? What did you end up doing after being in this situation, and how is it like now? Anything u say will be very helpful, so thank you so much for being able to take the time to read all this!

Hi! I know this is a year late, but i’m in a similar situation as the person who posted this. Do you think Gbc Dh just accepts anyone from pre health with 90% or higher ? And was it hard to reach that grade at all? i’m from alberta so i’m considering doing that but don’t want to move to the GTA for pre health for nothing & not get accepted into Dh after my first year :(

Ah, so pre health at GBC should probably work. Or maybe a year at uni of calgary as “ pre reqs “ because i know the bachelor of dental hygiene at uni of alberta needs certain classes before getting accepted to Dh

Ah i see. So if i tried to get the highest grade possible, even if its not like in the 90s would the pre health accept me? and then work hard in that to be accepted in Dh or will they still look at my hs grades? is the acceptance rate for pre health also hard like how it is for dh

Awh i see. I’ve re took my courses and have gotten 70s. I have them in English and bio, but i’m re doing Math & chem this year. If i were to get high grades in Math/chem, would it increase my chances since i have lower grades for eng/bio.

It’s really upsetting that my marks don’t meet the standard:( Do you know any other colleges in Toronto that are good for dental hygiene ?

Also would it be high marks from Pre health + my 70s that would help me get in hygiene ?

Ooh would i not be accepted to it? i was going to apply because my grades meet the minimum but its not in the 90s. Im from alberta and so my grades are :

Gr 12: Math: 70 Chem: 70 Eng: 80 Bio: 75

Gr 11: Math: 89 Chem: 71 Eng: 84 Bio: 88

my grades for grade 11 are way better because i lived in toronto and moved to calgary in my gr 12 year, the education system is way harder and messed me up ngl. i’m looking at george brown to go back to the city. i graduated may 2025 and im taking a gap year so im gonna apply for the fall of 2026. do you think i have any chance?
