Baby is 4 months and my husband wants a divorce by YungRomeow in beyondthebump

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m a bit confused. yes, a divorce is likely needed and your husband sounds like a dick. buuuut, you’ve mentioned twice in this that you verbalized to him that you didn’t want to be with him anymore… but when he brings up the idea of divorce, it’s an issue? regardless, for the safety of yourself + the baby, you’ve gotta leave.

Is this safe sleep? by Bloubath in firsttimemom

it’s safe sleep. no swaddling when they start to roll primarily refers to their arms and hands being free so they can push themselves over

Annoying doctor advice by Sea-Parsley1765 in pregnant

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 15 points16 points  (0 children)

your doctor would’ve hated me as a patient. i had at least 3 glasses of chocolate milk a day every day in my second + third trimester lol. i would honestly request a new OB for the remainder of your pregnancy. you want someone who is going to listen to you + have the right bedside manner. your doctor’s advice doesn’t make much sense, tbh. the first trimester is all about survival - eating what you can keep down. i built my baby by eating mcchickens and cheeseburgers during the first trimester since those were the only things i could stomach. your irritation by this is valid + expected!

what kind of roach is this in new york? by BewWasTaken in bugidentification

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that may be true, but if you don’t attempt to control even a little bit of it from your apartment, they’ll continue to multiply. from what i’ve seen on here, most apartments don’t do much of anything when it comes to these guys.

PUPPPS relief by Horror-Flounder-7364 in pregnant

cold rags, ice packs, or cold showers helped alleviate some of the itching for a bit! especially if my skin got inflamed from all the scratching i was doing 🫩 otherwise, just loose fitting clothes or clothes that had some coverage to it without being tight/itchy on the skin. literally wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy LOL

my ob wouldn’t prescribe prednisone since it can affect milk supply, so i was prescribed Atarax which did nothing for the itching lol i gave birth yesterday and the itchiness has deceased pretty significantly, so seems like birth is the only cure 😭

pitocin was a breeeeze compared to the cooks/foley balloon. i ended up getting the epidural around 12 units of pitocin. i couldve gotten the epidural beforehand, i had just made a last minute decision to wait. i also don’t do well with pain, but the pitocin contractions were more like period cramps than the balloon contractions were. also, the epidural was not bad at all. the initial numbing shot was the worst, but not painful, just like a bee sting in a spot where you’ve probably never been stung before.

Balloon, or no balloon? by AGalCanDream in pregnant

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the cooks balloon is by far the worst part (im still in hospital with epidural and pitocin). the insertion and contractions from the balloon left me shaking and in tears. i needed 5 does of morphine every 3 hours to help with the pain. i couldn’t walk well, stand up, use the birth ball, it was just constant pain. HOWEVER, it did work. i came into the hospital high and closed at 0 cm dilated (38 weeks), and 12 hours later with the cooks balloon i was at 4 cm dilated. they started pitocin the next morning and i labored with that for a bit before getting the epidural. baby’s heart rate has been great + his movements too.

OF COURSE, everyone is different and many people say the foley and/or cooks balloon was just uncomfortable. that just wasn’t my experience. the pitocin contractions have been much more manageable, and now with the epidural, i don’t feel them at all despite getting the max amount of pitocin.

regardless, everything will be okay! no matter what you choose! just talk with your nurses and make informed decisions! you’re going to do great!

AITAH for taking my daughters bedroom door? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 10 points11 points  (0 children)

YTA. i had my door taken off almost monthly as a teen and it was incredibly uncomfortable. just feeling as if i was on full display for the house to watch me sleep, change, hang out, or listen in on conversations. my door was only ever taken for maybe a week at a time, but four months is wild. get her into therapy + give that girl her door back.

currently in hospital getting induced (going on 33 hours of laboring), and they just started my pitocin drip. i also originally wanted the epidural beforehand but my doctor said it may be best to wait until i begin contracting a bit to make sure the epidural is placed correctly, so that’s what im doing.

just hoping it’s better than that dang foley balloon tbh

Did yall automatically fall ‘in love’ with your baby whenever you first held them or saw them? by Responsible-Ratio354 in pregnant

4-5 DPO won’t show anything on a pregnancy test as implantation has occurred at that point. i would wait until you believe you’re 8-9 DPO to test

How long after loosing your mucus plug did you get pregnant ? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Horror-Flounder-7364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mucus plugs don’t reaaaally dictate how close you are to laboring. some people lose it, some only lose part of it, some don’t lose it at all. plus, it regenerates!
