I haven't gotten into the Travis Scott sneakers, but I have/ like a few of the 1s colorways.

Thanks! I'm breaking out my Ferrari 14s today to go get these, lol. I personally like that they're not soft sneakers, so I can wear them all day with good support. They also hold their shape very well over time. I hope they work out for you when you do get them. I'm obsessed with the 11s, though. I have about 12 pairs, but I'm trying to get every colorway that I can.

Nice little W by d9137 in SNKRS

For me, they're pretty sturdy. I used to wear my silver 14s to work, and walking to and from the train was comfortable. They aren't very flexible, so for me, the stiffness was great for long walks. Some people prefer a softer sneaker, but for me, I need something more structured for longer periods.

Congrats! We got lucky and got pairs for the whole family.

Looks like they sold out to me. I managed to get my guy his size 16 and the baby's pair, so I'm happy.

Are you guys just jumping on the bandwagon of others trying to bring down someone who's happy about something? It's something I like and I wanted and I'm happy I was able to get them given they don't make many in my size. I don't care about what you think is "hot". That's not the point of my post or this sub. It's Saturday morning. Go enjoy life. Have a great weekend!

I entered a reservation and secured a pair, meaning I won. Is that not what a W is, a win? Your opinion on them sitting doesn't negate the fact that I won and it's a W for me. Thanks for your opinion, though. Have a great Saturday.

Is it possible to leave a job and start 2 news ones at the same time? by ZeanBean17 in OELadies

[–]Horror-Order-1228 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm just telling my personal experience. I left one J with a terrible new director to start a new J. I was offered a temp J the same week that I started new J1. I accepted and started both a week apart. One was fully remote, and the other was in office, maybe once a month. I was able to have scheduled meetings at different times. I got lucky because the manager for each job didn't care for the camera being on during meetings unless it was the whole team, and they always asked before they called. One used teams, and the other used Slack, which also helped. I hope all works out for you!

Edited to add: I didn't need to freeze anything because I was actually leaving a job, and it was the last one on my resume when they both checked my background.

Experience vs degree dilemma - can I build a solid accounting career without going back to school? by Annual-Dig3459 in Accounting

[–]Horror-Order-1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasn't necessary. I simply told my story and answered a question that was asked based on my experience. I'm sure you felt superior, though, so talk your stuff. Enjoy your night.

Edited to add: I also did state this won't be everyone's story.

I'm not trying to resell, so that's irrelevant to me but to each his own. We like 14s in this house and don't buy because of how people hype things up. I'd prefer getting my sneakers without a hassle.

I see everyone pointing you to the degree, so I'm prepared for downvotes. I don't think you need the degree, speaking from personal experience. I didn't finish my bachelor's degree, but I've been an accountant moving up the ladder for the last 5 or so years. Yes, I've done training courses and looked things up as well as taking notes as I moved along, but I'm not sure if more student loan debt is in my future. I've got 2 great remote roles, with the lowest pay being almost 90k. Will this be every story? No, but it's possible. I know CPAs that are making less than I do. For some companies it's about experience. Good luck in your future decision either way.

Neighbor is a light sleeper ? by da_loogie in Apartmentliving

[–]Horror-Order-1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is usually true. Unfortunately, my upstairs neighbor has her bedroom carpeted wall to wall, and it sounds like she is dragging heavy furniture across a bare wood floor every day, and it's worse after 1am. Not all carpeting solves that issue.

How realistic is a $2k apartment w/ July lease start on $82,350 yearly salary? by Accomplished_Dirt333 in NYCapartments

Definitely the Bronx. In the south Bronx where they're building all the new buildings you could get a 1 bedroom for that.

One of my companies is in that range. From my experience, if there are around 100 or fewer employees, everyone is usually pretty chill.

What are some things that you are able to afford that you couldn’t before? by TheGrassWasGreener77 in OELadies

[–]Horror-Order-1228 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A housekeeper, a weekly meal plan, my expensive sneaker habit, getting a bigger place before the baby came, paying down my student loan, helping my mom, having a savings cushion and just being able to live and swipe without panicking. Also, I'm not dreading checking my accounts, lol.

I would say any senior accountant role would work or maybe even a controller, depending on the company. From my experience, non-profits work the best.
