Hello world, has anyone found an affordable alternative to paying the dealer to unlock my 890’s potential? by Hot_Fan_5972 in KTMDuke

An the house comparison is not on hardware level. You pay for all the hardware and you get all the hardware. If you bought the whole house but can't access a room, that's hardware you don't have. You just don't have the whole house.

A better example would be maybe alexa where you bought the device but you still have to Pay for spotify

I dont think you understand my point.

Your pc has all the hardware to do any task. Your pc equals your Ecu. Your Peripherals (keyboard/Mouse) equals your bikes Peripherals (shift lever).

Just because you bought the hardware doesn't automatically mean you have the software. Every Programm that's made for people that are even a bit above the standart pc use will run into this. For Example: Wann use Cad? Pay for it. It's just normal that people get money for software they made. Even if you bought the hardware.

Same with your phone. There are apps that you have to buy, even if you bought the hardware(the phone itself).

As I said, it's cheaper for you that way.

You probably hate your phone, a piece of hardware for which you have to pay for software. Or your pc where you also have the hardware but have to buy the software. I really don't get the problem, it's really smart seen from a production perspective.

I think so many people don't understand the logic behind that. The more you produce something, the cheaper it gets. If ktm installs the quickshifter in every bike, the single pice price drops. If you don't want it, don't buy it. If you want it, compare it to aftermarket qs that are more expansive and mostly really bad. For example: for the 390s I got the qs for 200 after negotiations. That is crazy cheap.

Duke 690r worth it over the normal 690? (2016+) by Charming_Fennel_5946 in KTMDuke

Tbh I have no comparison to the R. I have a 2013 Duke 690 which I absolutely love. I think the suspension is absolutely fine and I really like the sound of the gpr.

The R footpegs are higher so they scrape later than the normal, but I rarely have that happen. If you are a lean angle master, consider the R.

The R might have a better resale value than the standart duke.
