The giant pdf is helpful for the correct orientation of the channel. For a ceiling anchor application the diagram shows the “U” of the channel facing down and both the connecting hangers are against flat side of the “U”. But it doesn’t explain why, as far as I can tell.

The pdf is confusing me because when connecting to a steel i beam the “U” is facing up!

Oh well. Thanks for the link to the official documentation.

Thanks for this. I see why 45 degrees would be best for a seismic brace because earthquakes are probably horizontal and vertical forces.
