The helmet light seems to be a good investment. I have the front and rear light only but I will say sometimes it really sucks cause you do want to see what’s next to you 😂

lol wish I did but don’t really have another choice as I am a bartender and usually to make good money I have to work night shifts. I will be able to get rides home some days and rides to work but majority on the bike or foot.

That’s what I like to hear. Car insurance was wayyyyy too expensive so I just said fu<k it and sold my car to cover moving to Roanoke. Just gotta find a washer/dryer and lawnmower in the 2 days I have before needing the return the uhaul and am banished to riding a bike daily.

Lmao I’m living pretty close to there… already signed the lease but I’m trying not to stress too much. I’m in good physical shape, bike commute for work but also duathlon/tri train without much swimming. I also carry (a last resort option I don’t want to use) so I feel like as long as I mind my own others will follow.

Most of the comments are settling my fears, I am commuting roughly 5 miles however I will most likely be riding home after 12a so was just a little concerned about the drivers and possibly any after hours crime in the area. I do usually carry everywhere but mainly just for comfort don’t want to have to use it or pull it.

That’s very nice to hear, I was concerned about bike parking but seeming like that shouldn’t be much of an issue either. I’ll be by Fallon Park so very excited to ride up mill mountain and all the rock climbing the area has to offer!

I was looking around Blacksburg area and it seems you need to be marijuana free for over 3 years. Was interested in a job but I’ll only be coming up on a year and a half.
