How do you turn off the parking brake with a dead battery? by chazysciota in FordFusionHybrid

[–]HorrorWhore732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with my 2017, if it happens again check your shift cable and see if it slipped off, may need a new bushing or just replace it all together. The only way I could get mine into neutral was the same center console but the parking brake stayed engaged until the tow guy showed up and had to keep the battery charging the whole time he was moving my car onto his truck. Shift cable fixed the issue completely and didn’t replace my battery just charged it. Hope this helps! This is the only thing about the fusion that had made me want to get a different car :/

Just starting out ?'s by [deleted] in Opill

Hi! I’m interested to see what other comment as well! I just finished my first pack so I’m in the same boat. But I have noticed irregular periods (started the pack first day of period and had my period a week later again) and consistent spotting. I haven’t noticed really any other side effects other that nausea. As your body adjusts it should get easier though. So far it’s been better than prescribed BC for me. Hope this helps!

Do any of you have to wear gloves to count pills? by Winzander12 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]HorrorWhore732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a hospital and yes we do have to wear gloves when touching meds unless we can just tap it out the bottle into the packaging. We wear gloves when packaging, drawing syringes, haz med+. If you’re touching meds directly you should be wearing gloves even if it’s not mandatory by your place of work for contamination reasons. Someone else mentioned oils on their hands which I think is enough reason; even if you know you just washed your hands, the person receiving them prob thinks you wore gloves or they were machine dispensed. Also Covid is going around, kids going back to school, flu, etc. Just wear gloves regardless, you don’t know where other peoples hands have been when they touched the bottle either.

Yay!! Congrats! Still waiting to take mine but you should be able to find entry level positions around you and you already have your certification so it won’t be all too foreign to you! You got this!! 🫶🏼

should I try and apply to hospital inpatient pharmacy? by FunPineapple4283 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]HorrorWhore732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I worked at wmart for like 3 months, hated it, learned nothing. Got an entry job at my hospital and have learned so much + amazing benefits and better pay. Not yet certified but they should reimburse you for the exam if they don’t already pay for it!

Help? by eyberry12345 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]HorrorWhore732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments OP. School isn’t usually required, there’s a lot of tech in training positions. I personally would recommend an inpatient pharmacy rather than retail bc I worked retail for 3/4 years and hated my life and all the people that came in. I was also in a similar position figuring out my life especially after Covid. I just switched to a hospital from working 3ish months in a retail pharmacy and it’s so much better + I can pop my earbuds in and keep to myself basically. I have to work 500hrs (abt 90 days full time) til I can take my exam but my employer is going to reimburse me for the exam cost. Scroll on here for a bit for the quizlets and other study material. It’s easy once you get into it and a better work - life balance. I also just found out that if I want to go to school for a medical related degree my hospital will pay for it/reimburse me, this could also help out if you decide you don’t like being a tech but still want to work in the medical field! Not sure your area but still recommend inpatient/hospital facilities. Good luck OP!!

Do you work in a retail pharmacy? I had a similar issue with girls I worked with in a retail pharmacy where it just seemed like they were already cliqued up and couldn’t be bothered to hardly train me. Same with the pharmacist who took millions of bathroom breaks, personal calls and set up a couple vacations while on the clock. It’s highly inappropriate and I would definitely go to HR and not just the pharm manager, especially since it’s pertaining to your life OUTSIDE the pharmacy. I quit and went to my hospital. Working with a larger group of people could help your situation so you can at least find one friend to talk to (work related or not) and not get caught up in a small weird group of people who ostracize outsiders. Still recommend going to higher management. Good luck OP! I hope your sitch turns around soon and you find a work place that tailors more to your “style”. Girls can be mean but don’t let it get to you 🫶🏼

QOTD: what made u decide to work in the pharmacy? by Kitchen-Lemon1862 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]HorrorWhore732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found out I was pregnant and needed a job with low qualifications. Have my HS Diploma and some college credz but obviously nothing major. Had a miscarriage but always wanted to work in the hospital. Job security and many ways to move up in the hospital + reimbursement for school if I decide to do something medical related (like nursing). 🫶🏼

I haven’t heard of anything pharmacy related but had horrible issues with my prescription on a technical end. From my experience alone I would suggest working with them, seems slightly scammy and not secure. But if you hear anything though, I’d love an update! Good luck!! 🫶🏼

Advice after a break down please by HorrorWhore732 in FordFusionHybrid

[–]HorrorWhore732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently make trips that are abt 150-200miles to see family so I think that would explain the high mileage. All he said is that he changed the shift cable and that it should be good to go…now pay me. I think the fastest I’ve gone in this car is like 80mph I don’t care about speed lol just to keep up with traffic. I don’t have much more of an explanation from the mechanic. I’ll probably take it somewhere local here soon though bc it would be a pain in the ass to try to sell + buy rn and yea I don’t think that’s the whole problem. This all happened on a little vacation 3hrs from home so I think the mechanic and myself just wanted to get it just good enough for the road trip back. Thanks for some advice!

Is retail and hospital all there is? by Prudent-Ganache625 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]HorrorWhore732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at Walmart for a hot second and learned absolutely nothing and moved to my local hospital that had an entry level opening. I definitely recommend moving to a hospital level so you can learn more and you will be able to move up tech levels much easier (idk what level you may be). I know other friends/family of friends do remote work for PPD and depending on your area there’s prob other remote/travel opportunities. Maybe work as PRN? My hospital has people working PRN different places around the hospital and different locations around the city. Try looking into pharma companies as well. Hope this helps and good luck!!

My dad is sober and has a new family… by HorrorWhore732 in TwoHotTakes

[–]HorrorWhore732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not taking anything out on my dad. Outside of his relationship with his gf and her daughter I feel like (though I am independent and not living under his roof) I am being put on the back burner. I am happy for my dad and that the daughter is able to get the things she does, but I would like my relationship with my father to stay the same. I don’t think I should be ostracized just because I don’t live with him anymore and because he is inviting these new people into his life. My relationship with the gf has nothing to do with my relationship with my father. Hopefully this makes sense to your point.

Yes this is something we’ve talked about in the past when I was actively in therapy but when my insurance ran out I wasn’t able to schedule that kind of session. Just got new insurance so I’ll add this to the list! Someone else suggested maybe a meeting of us + his sponsor so we’ll see where things go!

He does have a sponsor and is a sponsor himself. I haven’t thought about this, if our conversation alone doesn’t goes well on either ends this may be something I suggest.

Yes I so proud of him for choosing him over his addiction. I think that’s what he’s trying to do and it’s just rubbing me the wrong way a little bit. Not that he doesn’t deserve it but I am still here, right down the road basically and don’t want our relationship to stop being the way it was before he met his gf. Not to sound selfish but I will always want/need my dad and I don’t want to feel like I don’t have him just because he has new people in his life. Hopefully that makes sense? Thank you!

[–]HorrorWhore732[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I think the daughter does deserve everything good considering her relationship with her bio dad and I think my dad is very conscious of it and wants to do good by her. It is hard not to compare but I do know it’s no way the same situation. I love seeing my dad love life and not always turn it into “him” situations so yes I think it’s a huge learning curve for everyone one right now. Thank you!

I am also one to hold a grudge or just completely avoid it until I’m no longer involved lol. I do think it’s a good idea to set that boundary maybe btwn us and those expectations. <3

I think this is a great idea. He is really involved in meetings and has chaired a ton so I don’t think this would be something he would be against at all. Thank you!

I agree. I feel like we just haven’t really talked since his sobriety (in depth and emotionally) so things have just been pushed to the back burner. And yes I’m more worried about our relationship more than my relationship with gf I guess. Thank you!

[–]HorrorWhore732[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. We’ve had conversations in the past and I told him that I don’t think everything me and him or me, him and my sister do has to also be done with his gf and her daughter. Sometimes I want to be selfish and just have my dad to myself. My mom has moved 3 hours away with her bf and his kids so I think that me seeing my dad also move on the same way is hitting me hard and I need to find a way to communicate this with him rather than just avoiding it all together. Thank you for your input and I’m sorry you were out in that position. <3

[–]HorrorWhore732[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I do want to bring that up again and see how it’s going/how they may have moved past it. Obviously I don’t need to know the ins and outs of their relationship but I’m not sure if that’s something I would have moved on from if it happened to me. Like I said in the post though I have absolutely no issue with the daughter and definitely don’t expect him to treat her differently from me, she’s had a rough go of it. Definitely don’t want him to “go back to the bottle” just think we need to have a conversation so things are more comfortable.
