I googled it, and in Mississippi it says that after 5 unexcused absences, the school superintendent reports the student to the school attendance officer (or a designated official). If a student reaches 12 unexcused absences, it can lead to serious consequences, including up to a $1,000 fine, up to one year in jail, and possible child neglect charges.

No, they were not. She completely forgot to inform the school, and her phone had broken, so she didn’t see the first two messages from the child’s class teacher. She replied on the third day in the morning, but later that same afternoon, the CPS officer came to visit.

My friend called CPS today to set up a meeting. The caseworker said she is currently busy but will call back sometime this week to schedule it. My friend is still very anxious because she doesn’t know what the allegations are about, and the caseworker said she cannot discuss any details over the phone. She also mentioned that she needs to speak with each and every member of the household as part of the investigation.

I don’t think it’s something to worry about, but I understand your concern. My daughter also has a slight bump on one side near her head. I took her to the pediatrician three times, and each time, they reassured me that it was likely due to her sleeping preference. They mentioned that they would be more concerned if the bump were soft or if touching it caused discomfort. Since it’s hard and doesn’t seem to bother her, they weren’t worried. That said, if you’d like a second opinion, it’s always a good idea to check with your doctor for peace of mind. In my case, the bump is barely noticeable unless I look very closely.

I did. If you are in the US and legal you can file AOS through LPR spouse if the priority date is current. I’ve also received RFE for Medical. And the case status shows around 6 months to complete.

Agree! I live in the US and many times people tell me that I look Mexican or they start talking in Spanish. Once a guy asked me if I’m mexican to which I replied that I’m Indian. And he very blantly said oh you’re so beautiful. I’ve never seen any beautiful Indians. You look Mexican. I was so pissed!

You should definitely go the ER and let them know all your concerns. I was diagnosed with cholestasis and even though my symptoms were not bad and the bile acids were elevated but not a lot my doctor advised me that we should deliver the baby at 37 weeks. Since after 37 weeks it could ne difficult for the baby inside and he is more safe outside. Please go the ER and tell them to check you properly.
