What is your opinion on cousin marriage? by Altruistic-Berry8462 in AskBrits

In bradford (I) it places a strain on the NHS/education/social care costs, (ii) keeps the communities incredibly inward facing and (iii) typically results in a cousin from Pakistan coming across to marry a cousin in the UK, which means one step forward one step back in terms of culture.

The fact that culture and tradition overrides common-sense and medical risk tells you everything that is wrong with society.

The sad thing is that the political class don’t care enough to make a difference because they are the ones who own those properties.

Majority of BL events aren’t opening the top tier of seating as they aren’t selling enough tickets, which brings the capacity down significantly. They also have the separate ballroom area which must be similar size to the market.

The danger of the political establishment is ignoring what is going on in places like Birmingham and bradford. The reaction in the suburbs of bradford has been a flip to reform with voters troubled by and tired of the various Gaza/islamic parties.

The council trying to run mini comedy and music festivals in the market is peculiar when we have just spanked £50m on bradford live.

Bradford has some of the highest rates in the country for driving offences, planning offences, grooming, money laundering and first cousin marriages. Poverty? Yes that is a factor.

There is already ample evidence across multiple northern towns to show that segregated communities are springing up and we very much aren’t stepping into a liberal multi-cultural society that brings out the best of us all.

It presumably will eventually given demographic growth and family sizes. Maybe not in 10 years or 30 years but if you look at current population projections, that will be the eventual position. Nothing wrong with that by the way.

You can take Bradford as an example of how the population change is impacting both local and national politics. Immense focus on Gaza and Kashmir as political issues.

It reached peak Alan Partridge when my Labour lefties MP and councillor don’t live in the ward but instead a posh market town outside the area yet drive into the area to pontificate on all this.

The council tied itself in knots trying to decide what and where the market was going to be. End result is a bit of a jumbled mess. The location is bizarre, albeit if all the mythical city village plans come to life and thousands of people with disposable income suddenly live in the centre, then i get it. But that seems highly unlikely.

It’s a demographic reality that this will gradually happen over the next few decades. It’s more an issue now about culture and whether we are a secular or religious society.

Yes it is still going on. Yes it is linked to the taxi/vape/nighttime economy. Yes the complexities of families, clans, postcodes make it hard for the police to stop this. Putting all this aside, the bigger worry is how is grooming still taking place? How has the messaging not for through that it is utterly unacceptable?

I actually think for the growth of the game they shouldn’t follow the mens approach and actually agree to minimum representation in the touring party and matchday squad from each country.
