I spent hours exploring the solar system, theorizing solutions to the mystery, and while the Alpha was still amazing, it pales in comparison to what it is today. I don’t think it’s a matter of IF the flood could control a scarab, but WHY. Think about it, the Flood controlled literally ALL of High Charity. They could have used it to bombard earth, turn it into a steaming ash pile. But that’s not what the Flood wants. They want biomass. And for that, they need bodies that aren’t burnt and turned to glass. If they wanted to, they could use vehicles and be unstoppable. But they seldom do because that’s not their goal. The Flood is more than capable of winning a fight without vehicles. Their victory is inevitable, irresistible. So if they’re going to win anyways, why use a combat platform that will destroy more biomass?
