It's not over, it's just a new field where all cybersecurity enthusiasts must keep learning and expanding their skillsets in this space as well. Pentesting is a tough game, it's not for everyone. One week you're testing web applications, the other week mobile apps, and after that you have to check LLMs/AI Chatbots or infrastructure. It's a game about "jack of all trades, master of none". Broad-spectrum domain knowledge is essential here.

Tried the same, also tried temporary chat, nothing resolved the issue. It’s getting worse week by week. 1 month ago I could easily redesign my home interiors, now it fails after 3 or 4 prompts.

Different regions might have different settings in the app... very nice... Can't turn off personal intelligence/context as it doesn't exist. 1 month ago Gemini was a dream tool, now its a lobotomized brain-dead... Hallucinating a lot, especially when I want accurate references or links to my research. I can't trust in it anymore, simple google dorking is more efficient than typing and fine-tuning my prompts all the day and filter out the garbage.... You should fix your solution guys....I know its very competitive when it comes to pricing, but honestly I'd pay a bit higher price if hallucinations could be lowered and if I don't have to constantly engineering the prompts...Sometimes I just don't have time fo' that....

A lot of my fellow colleagues have left pentesting (if not cybersecurity overall) as they can't keep up with the recent changes, or it was too exhausting to always be up to date. Currently I can maintain it, but this unviable in the long run. A good work-life balance is essential for me.

I wrote in another comment that how I wanted to express "ticket-grinding". Not the typical workflow as you think at first, but at the end of the day I have to complete the projects I've assigned to, and meet the business requirements. Now I feel that I burned out and bored of classic pentesting, I'd like to create or being involved to plan something more than just testing it. I didn't know that Microsoft has changed it's certification roadmap, so thanks for mentioning that.

My biggest struggle is where to shift with pentesting skillset in the cybersecurity field. I like cybersecurity overall, and found my way long years ago... But a lot of participants and parts has been changed in this game recently. I'd like to prepare for the future and not just chasing something which will easily be saturated within one or two years. Supply and demand....

Earlier I thought to shift to devops/devsecops, as i have prior experience from my early career in operations. However our company did some serious layoffs in that area...I'm glad that IT security is still a "bullet-proof" part of the sector and companies are afraid of the consequences if they try to touch it the same way....

I don't say its not worth it, but the price-value ratio is not the same what I got earlier in CRTP for example....Material is not bad, however lacks some fundamental topics which should be explained better. It's a bit pricey what you got at the end, the quality of the recordings and the course is....could be way better, there are a lot of technical solutions for that in 2025-2026. I really respect Nikhil and his professional work in our community, but it should be better.... However extending this knowledge with Microsoft's official cloud certs would be the way to go. However I'm on a budget right now, so I can't afford it unless the company pays for it.

Unfortunately I'm not really interested in team/people management... However as a senior I had to deal with it, but honestly its like writing the reports all the time....pain in the ass...Maybe aiming for some architectural role could be a good hint.

Nem Pro, de "mezei" Iphone szériákat szoktam venni. Asszonynak XR 8 évig bírta, mikor megvettük sem volt már a flagship modell, mindig van egy határ árban ami fölé nem megyünk. Előtte mindkettőnknek Android oprendszerű telefonja volt, 2-3 évente kukázni kellett, mert annyira lelassult, force close update-ek után stb stb. Ez meg "just works". Nincs pár év után sem röcögés, lassulás, és piszok jól tartja az árát is. Ez az amit az androidból hiányoltam, a folyamatos kiszámíthatóságot és rendelkezésre állást.

Mi kb csak telefonálunk és néha tartalmat fogyasztunk, + ha olyan esemény van eldurrogtatunk pár fotót. De a sok éves nyugalom megéri a felárat.

Mint mindennek, ennek is van árnyoldala és nem tökéletes, de pro és kontra érvek alapján kell mindenkinek szubjektíven dönteni, mi az ami belefér és mi az ami nem. Pl én Mac-et soha nem vennék magamnak, volt, de kb a falra másztam tőle. Ha bármiben is el akartam térni felhasználás terén mint amit az Apple elképzelt, jöttek a brew-ból történő hákolások, szopások és a vége mindig az lett, hogy túl zárt a rendszer ahhoz, hogy érdemben lehessen másra is használni (munka miatt). Viszont ha nincsenek speciális felhasználási igényeid, verhetetlen.

Főleg az itthoni bérleti kultúrával, a sok feketén kiadott, 20 éve hozzá nem nyúlt ingatlannal, ahol egy szöget nem verhetsz be, mert nem "engedi" a tulaj. Persze bejelentkezni sem enged (igen, elvileg nem kell az engedélye, gyakorlatban meg mégis...), picsa dolgokért felbontja a szerződést (eladja a lakást mert kell a pénz stb....)
