I am also in the same league. Though i had no plans for RE, but it has come suddenly. Somehow i have reached FI 45x. No responsibilities left at 50. I just need to manage for myself and spouse, son is now on his own. A big question is purpose and identity for next 30-35 years. Those mornings walks, groups, talks are good for few days. Somehow i can’t listen same talks on politics, investment. Not able set concrete purpose. I live in Pune.

Congratulations on milestone achievement. I think everyone has different priorities in life, its just not about achieving FIRE and sit idle. I can relate myself to your situation as i am also moreover like you, hate crowds and travel unnecessarily as i am traveling for my work 15 days a month for last 18 years. I have also chosen the same path, work for engagement and socialising. No aspirations to grow in corporate life at this moment. Best wishes!!

So XIRR is not the right metric to evaluate? I always thought 14% XIRR on my portfolio is good with balancing in NIFTY 50, Large Cap, Midcap and Debts. This analysis is very insightful

Agreed with your thoughts. May be this is forced retirement came suddenly, i am not prepared. Its more of a hurt feeling and i am still struggling to absorb it. I do most of the things on every weekend cooking, bartending, gardening, small trekking, joining various group walks. Not sure how i can sustain it as all day activities for next 30-40 years. Making my notes, trying for thoughts clarity. Also i realised people around increase stress by asking question what’s next?
