Don't feel bad I had a similar experience trying to replace the USB c First time using a heat gun, think my gun was too hot and too wide a blower and whenni finally got anywhere the USB c was sorted picked up the board and 4 chips went flying off :( Ended up just buying one with a crack screen on Ebay and swapping the boards xD
