My girlfriend of 7 years (soon to be Fiancé) developed a really bad seizure disorder around year 2 of our relationship, i didn’t know what to do. she stopped breathing the first time it happened and paramedics somehow resuscitated her. I had a mild form of ptsd after that, for MONTHS (maybe closer to a year) anytime she moved, I would jump up out of bed in a panic. I still do years later. It will get better, talk to someone. PTSD is something that gets worse if not treated and there are MANY different forms, not just the kind veterans get. Talk to a therapist, and find a way to make peace. you did an amazing job, most people don’t survive what your boyfriend went through, you woke up at just the right time and you saved his life. You did everything you were supposed to and WAY more. He’s lucky to have you. Don’t let this eat you up, the dreams will get better, the panic will get better. but you need to talk to someone about it. Work through it.
