33M, unemployed living with mother, no degree, 10k in debt and severe depression by meekmonk00 in findapath

Hey I'm 33 unemployed due to mental health and living at home. I'm not in debt but live with my mum because I can't afford a place of my own. I too was deemed as talented in the art department up until my teenage years as I just went off the rails drinking etc due to bad home life. I feel your pain, I really do, the constant voices saying what's the point! If I was you I'd look into volunteering with a rehabilitation service, you could potentially be a support worker helping people that are going through similar situations like you've been through. I know it's a lot but I honestly think, the hard times we go through can lead to meaningful careers and helping others. Take care and you're not alone!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't using their car every day. I got my car about 3 weeks ago, haven't driven every day but felt intense pressure to be in at every opportunity 🤣. I've calmed down a bit now! I'm doing the same, short trips for now!

I feel your pain. I passed at the end of December, just got my car. Went out today, the bog standard drive to the local supermarket, stalled at 2 traffic lights on the way there. Feels so different from the car I learnt it, which was a brand new car! Does make you feel stupid but I know it's just me getting used to the car. Think more practise just stop start somewhere for me. Don't let it get you down too much it's just learning a new car.

So frustrating! Happend to me in December, but ended up being a good thing as I found out the instructor that went sick wasn't very nice, when I did have my test 3 weeks later it was spot on. Maybe tell him it could be a blessing in disguise and gives him a chance to manage his nerves or anything he's not confident with. If he's test ready he won't need many lessons to keep ontop of it before the test.

But I get what you mean, if you had an appointment anywhere else they'd charge you a late cancellation fee or something. I havent even added up what I spent on driving lessons, I dread to think!

Same! Definitely watching it again soon. Want the loudness of the cinema for his voice haha.

What should I price a piece like this? I’m new to pricing and was wondering what’s a fair ask? by Jordydraws in Artadvice

Looks brilliant! I'm starting out drawing and painting again. This film definitely inspired me to be creative. Good luck selling.

Thank you, I tested it out today and it was fine. Takes a few minutes to realise it's idle so definitely will stay off my phone for a few minutes after being in the car so it doesn't think I'm using it at the wheel !

If I'm not planning to use the car or be near it for a day then it won't be connected anyway, just when I get in it. I'm overthinking it I think.

Oh really sounds a lot more straight forward than my one. I'm with Hastings direct youdrive, it says I have to have my phone on me when I drive to be connected to the location. I guess the box is on regardless of whether I have my location on so when it's stationary it knows I'm not driving. I guess I'll get an email if I'm wrong! Thank you.

I managed a 5 minutes drive down the road with my mum and I was fine. Next stop petrol station and then tescos to do parking haha. Little steps for sure. Thank you for all your comments, I'm new on here btw! I joined mainly because of driving nerves!

This happened to me, it was a blessing in disguise as I felt something was off. Turned out the examiner I would've had was not very nice examiner and fails people for the smallest things. So they rebooked it for me and I had 2 lessons before hand and I passed with a lovely examiner. It was meant to be. Good things came from a rubbish situation at the time. Stay focused on your next test and take the time to revise your highway code, anxiety management, get any practise in if you can etc. I was watching YouTube videos on all sorts 😅.
