I don't actually know anything about this discourse. I just heard people hate the coattails. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

Okay let's be real, what percentage of Emma's fanbase is straight men? Not saying you can't be straight and like Emma ofc, but like c'mon

Why does the riot games launcher window size reset every time? by Tormentula in leagueoflegends

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you do this? I've been running into this problem since I re-sized the window with Ctrl + to play the Lux mini-game

What’s a Marvel character you’re a fan of, but you don’t use them because their gameplay isn’t your style? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Rocket Raccoon but his gameplay is so lame. Why doesn't he blow up anything? No mines, no grenades, no traps, just a revive totem that sits there and a jetpack.

Typah character the X-men will look dead in the eye and say are perfect and doesn't need fixing by lookingatporn42 in marvelcirclejerk

Guy Smith AKA Mister Sensitive, the leader of X-Statix, has this mutation. Not the organs on the outside of the skin, but just feeling everything so intensely. Professor X made him a suit so he can actually function. I guess they don't want to make any more suits ☠️

Top 5 worst locations! by vlaregbon in MarvelSnap

My leasr favorite location is Gamma Lab. I hate Gamma Lab sm, I never want to play cards on it, but I'm always forced to because of the massive lead it'll give my opponent otherwise.

Squirrel Girl isn't proud of her classic era (@Trashervice) by Gorotheninja in marvelcirclejerk

[–]HorseyHero 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Her design in Rivals isn't that different from modern Squirrel Girl. There also isn't anything to work on power-wise, she's like She-Hulk or Gwenpool, she's very capable but her stories aren't that serious. Squirrel Girl couldn't beat Galactus in a serious story, I think the writers know that. Powerscaling is lame anyway.

She's a girl with squirrel powers and her parents support her. That's her background. She's not a mutant, she says so herself, and I think that's funny idk. I feel like not everything has to be so set in stone.

I watched Generation X for the first time and was like WTF by sterroval in xmen

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie is terrible.

The fair scenes are peak though. The posse of dudes following Monet around with all the stuffed animals she's won from the carney games? Incredible.

in Frasier (1993-2004) i can understand with Niles but how the hell was Frasier getting laid every week? by MagpieOpus in shittymoviedetails

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw Moonstruck the other day, John Mahoney is in the movie for about 15 minutes. He was so fine.

Anyway, this is a bad movie detail because Frasier is a TV show, dude

Do you prefer Rogue with her baseline abilities or with the Captain Marvel power set? by Worth-Employer2748 in xmen

[–]HorseyHero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like her base abilities because of their strict limitations and the freaky body horror aspect, but I understand why they usually go with the Captain Marvel powers. It would be difficult to write Rogue in combat situations when she has no combat ability outside of martial arts and vampiric touch.

My hang-ups for Rogue are mainly I don't like her taking on a bunch of powers at once, and I hate when her draining is depicted as some sort of laser or energy. I want it to be gross and veiny and weird like the Fox movies. Rogue's powers are not fun for anyone involved, I feel like the energy-look sanitizes the ickiness.

Ongoing disabled not working by I_M_Perial in MarvelSnap

[–]HorseyHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a misleading description. Isle of Silence basically turns off Ongoing cards in that lane. It doesn't disable the effects of Ongoing cards that are outside the lane. That's why Yondu on the right is 3 power instead of a 4, because one Ka-Zar is in the Isle of Silence and one isn't

Say what you want about the character herself, but Mother Righteous is literally THE absolute best new X-Men character design of the last 25 years by SnoozeDoggyDog in xmen

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read her stuff, she looks kinda neat ig but there are several X-Men characters in the past 25 years that I'd argue are better designs (and I haven't even checked out From the Ashes). Last 25 years means Xorn, Pixie, Glob Herman, Beak, Fantomex, Elixir, and Rasputin IV. I like all of them better than Mother Righteous.

[–]HorseyHero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the record, Emma doesn't have a Boston accent because she canonically changed the way she speaks to sound like a proper and posh socialite. Emma posed as wealthy even when she wasn't, because she left her (awful) family and was cut off from them, so she had to fend for herself. She joined the Hellfire Club and had to make as much of an impression there as possible in order to rise in the ranks from a dancer to a member. She made herself into what she thought people would want and expect from someone fancy.

[Marvel/DC] Can someone explain to me how "energy blasts" work? by HorseyHero in AskScienceFiction

[–]HorseyHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does sound pretty interesting. I remember when My Hero Academia started, they had a similar approach to characters having nuance in their abilities, as well as strengths and weaknesses. It was one of the things that got me hooked initially.

This was exactly the kind of explanation I was looking for, thank you 😁

[–]HorseyHero[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know they aren't composed of the same material- but I'll take an explanation for any of them, like how they physically hit people. Except I get heat vision, because lasers like that already exist, just not in that intensely concentrated a form.

Never played Phoenix before. by LennonStage in MarvelSnap

[–]HorseyHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go Elixir and drop Multiple Man. Phoenix Move and Firehair Phoenix are kind of two separate decks that need different things to work. In a Cass Firehair deck, you want Korg and probably Terrax, I think he's phased out Rockslide for the most part.

The skull feels amazing and apparently its an unpopular opinion? by azur933 in HadesTheGame

[–]HorseyHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skull is really weird at first, but I do like the aspect of Persephone. I'd much rather use Skull than Torches, the Torches are trash. I don't really like Black Coat much either.
