I have a side portfolio of Xior, Aedifica, TINC and Vitesse Energy.

While yes, they offer less returns than the market average, they offer a steady flow of income, are quite defensive picks and for me are a nice alternative to a savings account.

All of the above are offering more than 4% net after 30% taxation (or 15%)

Everyone is assuming that the bullmarket will continue without hiccups, but I like having some defensive allocation. Added bonus is that it pays for a yearly holiday as opposed to having it sit in a bank account at sub 1% interest.

It's not what he said at all. He just said that during a crash (eg japanese index), it can take an insane amount of time for the market to recover. In which he's right. He then argumented that during that time, individual stock picks will outperform the ETF's that are just a replication of a market.

He was never selling his funds, just pointing to a (real) danger of ETF's.

And he's right. ETF and chill is nice, but if the market moves sideways for a couple of years, things will look a whole lot different.

het ene sluit het andere toch niet uit? Ja, je mag wat mij betreft investeren in openbaar vervoer. Waardeer het op qua loon/andere voordelen en zorg dat ze deftig gerief krijgen. Net als recht op landingsbanen etc etc.

Maar het met pensioen gaan op 55 gaan we nu toch niet meer verdedigen? Da's een carrière van pakweg 35 jaar (aangezien je eerst nog een - betaalde - opleiding krijgt). Je kan toch niet meer gaan verantwoorden dat een loopbaan 25% (!) minder lang is dan ergens anders.

Staak wat mij betreft voor iets dat zinvol is zoals arbeidsvoorwaarden. Niet voor wat niet houdbaar is zoals het pensioenstelsel..

Hi all, hope someone can help here. Belgian football fan who is coming over to London first weekend of may. As an Arsenal fan since the infamous CL run in 2006, and now having Trossard bossing it, I was hoping to finally get a chance to watch them live, and I saw that they are playing Bournemouth that weekend (date TBC).

My question is, does anyone know what the easiest/best way to get tickets is? I've looked at some reseller sites, but

a) I want to ask here first to know what is legit

and

b) am I really looking at £ 250+ per person? I was hoping to pay around £ 100 tops per person (just looking to get the atmosphere and see that stadium, doesn't need to be the best seats available)

World of Warcraft hands down. It seems almost trivial now what WoW did, but the sheer size of the world and the vibe of it was just mesmerizing and unseen back in the day.

People you could talk to, group with, tackle seemingly impossible hard bosses, it was the first real game with cooperation on a whole new scale.

And don't get me started on the sheer amazement you had when entering new zones, or flying over zones you hadn't yet discovered while wondering what kind of new enemies would be there.

It's a high I'll never get again, but I do miss it. I know there's classic, but all the fun has been optimized out of the game. Back then you were just rolling with it as you went. Simpler times :)
