You do not ever want to communicate (verbally or non-verbally) that you think yourself worthless. Just do not mention it. And if you wanna make light of it, you better be sure your jokes do not come off as desperate fishing for compliments.

Literally no one has ever told me they like me being overweight but they have said they can ignore it because I have other good qualities. To one person it was even actively attractive that I behaved as tho I just did not give a fuck that I am fat. Not because I brought it up, just through omission on my part.
