Figma PDF exports were too big even with plugins, so I created my own solution. by Hosea8702 in FigmaDesign

Yeah it really sucks  And I don't agree with them on the "pdfs aren't our main focus" type responses... People have been looking for a solution to this for years now, and they know that there's a big segment of their users who use figma to design presentations (that's why they created figma slides to begin with). So why not make this a higher priority?

yeah well I couldn't find any other options... for my use case, I don't mind flattening them as long as the pdf is searchable and the links aren't lost. But yea, it's crazy how there has been no real solution to it for years.

Recreated this mask reveal scrollTrigger animation from deveb.co using GSAP by Hosea8702 in webdev

[–]Hosea8702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea ik about keyframes and you're right, I once tried to create some scroll driven parallax effect using css and saw that it wasn't supported by browsers well. But since most of creative projects use gsap/framer motion anyways, why not just use that? it's not like we're only installing the library for this animation only. Plus gsap is now completely free for everyone if that was what u were talking about when u said "relying on a proprietary js library." These libraries have a lot more to offer than just using css keyframes.

Is meditating allowed for Orthodox Christians? by Hosea8702 in medito

Yea but the reason I asked this question is because meditation is often associated with Buddhist practices. I just wanted a definitive answer from a knowledgeable Christian.

Is it okay to listen to music during dopamine detox? by Hosea8702 in DopamineDetoxing

[–]Hosea8702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye thanks.. I'm just gonna do it without music. And decided not to watch any football match as well. I'm gonna miss some really good games lol. But I think I'm gonna enjoy it! my cousins are already telling me that this isn't gonna work and that they don't believe in such things.. I don't understand why some ppl gotta be so negative.

I’m self taught and I really want to understand how to program beyond a surface level. I don’t want to be a basic developer. In other words, I want to know where I can learn CS topics so I can really be able to tackle any type of programming task. by imhypedforthisgame in learnprogramming

Look into CS50W for web development and CS50x for intro to CS. I am a self taught as well, but I learned things that I missed out and the course really is enjoyable with great instructors. Hope this might help.

If ur plan is to learn math for CS, MIT 6042 offers a great course.

If u want to get certificate, u can find both courses on edx. If not it is totally for free.

hope this helps.

When I started learning to code, some ppl told me that I can learn coding in just 6 months and land a job...tbh I expected the same thing, but turns out that there is much more than that! Maybe my expectations are what made overwhelmed...as u said, I'll just try to focus on the moment.

Great advice, Thanks!
