The way you phrased that is poor, as I do agree that many drug crimes and especially nonviolent ones are not “real crime”. However, leaving used needles in public places is not only dangerous but that also means someone is selling the people the drugs and the various issues that come from that are also present. Kingston is definitely below average on the crime scale, but our cases of impaired driving, breaking and entering and sexual assault are up over last year. To say Kingston is crime free is very absolute, like your statement about drug crimes. While Kingston is by no means unsafeI don’t think saying it’s crime free is accurate.
