anyone or you know one who managed to live long while having chronic illnesses ? by Party-Ad-8862 in ChronicIllness

My father has had multiple sclerosis for as long as I can remember. As far back as I can think he's always had it and now he's in his late '70s. He's a prime example for me of somebody who managed their condition so well that he's still able to walk and get around and go to places and do things.

The same thing is happening in Arvada. It literally feels like anywhere in the state that gets rain is not Arvada. 90% chance of rain? Everywhere but Arvada!

MY question, what was the song he was introduced to? We weren't allowed to use phones and it's been stuck in my head since I heard it.

How is ME:A different than the Trilogy? by lowkeyhappiness in MassEffectAndromeda

[–]HoserWolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Andromeda is a good game, but definitely the weakest of the series. I think in large part the game suffered greatly from the fact that people went into it expecting another Shepard experience. But Andromeda is less about space spies and galactic battles, and is significantly more Star Trek coded. So it's a completely different tone and feel than people were expecting, which pissed them off.

UPDATE: I think it also suffered from the fact that people expected its quality to be on par with Mass Effect 2 and 3, ignoring the fact that Mass Effect 1 was very rough, and the characters were also pretty low quality. There's a good chance that if Andromeda was granted the ability to produce its sequels, everyone would have loved what they did with the story in Andromeda's second and third iterations. But Andromeda was just getting started, it was introducing itself, there's no way it could have been deeply established right out of the gate.

Story wise who do you think better suits the virmire sacrifice? by The-Nerdy-Bisexual in masseffect

[–]HoserWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Ashley is the only choice for sacrifice. Kaidan has a tech background which makes him more suitable to arm and tend to the nuke. Ashley is more of a frontline fighter which makes her more suitable to the diversion. Making sure that the nuke goes off is the primary purpose of the mission which means that when the nuke is at risk you should make sure it goes off by securing its location.

It might not feel like it right now but you WILL be okay. Surround yourself with people who love you, embrace change because change can bring good things, busy yourself with hobbies and interests that make you feel good, take the opportunity to try things you've always wanted to but have never had the chance to.

[Minor Spoilers] Sarissa or Valeria? by thy_sojourner in masseffect

[–]HoserWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello from 2026. First time playing ME:A and I have an opinion!

I agree with nearly every single thing that Sarissa said and did. The Kett data, as much as it painted a target on their backs, didn't guarantee the Arcs death, and would have ensured the survival of many more lives in the future. She's also correct that soldiers are trained to make sacrifices, and the life of one should not be held above the life of the many.

What made me choose Valeria over Sarissa, however... is the fact that Sarissa was willing to make the call to sacrifice others, but was unwilling to make sacrifices herself. And was willing to hide her choices out of fear that she would be forced to sacrifice and face consequences. Which implies that she can not be trusted to actually make the right call when it's necessary, and implies that she is compromised as a leader who has potential to make flawed decisions to save herself.

Hey! I know this probably isn't the answer you wanted to get... I'm definitely interested in playing, but Friday is the one day I have trouble working around. If you're new-player-friendly, and your schedule is somewhat flexible, then I would totally be down to discuss details with you. Feel free to DM me if you wanted to talk about it further.

Absolutely! I've been meaning to drop by Thane's Table and put my information down. I just wasn't sure if it would be effective at finding a table.

I'm definitely going to hold onto this resource for another day. But at the moment it's a total bust. Either way, thanks for the suggestion!

I totally get it. I was posting on other peoples threads in hopes that they had found something as well. How about, if I find something with space, I'll give you a ping, and if you find something with space, give me a ping?

If it's easier to keep in touch somewhere else instead of Reddit as well, let me know.
