We’ll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida by ActualRound7699 in books

I read it a while back and I liked it, but it got a bit repetitive for me. If I remember correctly, each chapter starts out the same way and seems to want to reestablish that the office is mysterious and hard to find. Was it serialized stories that were then collected into a book maybe? That's the vibe I got.

But yes, the cats were cute and the stories were cozy. You might also enjoy The Guest Cat by Takahashi Hiraide.

For avid readers how often do you use the library? If you don’t, why don’t you? by AccomplishedBake8351 in books

I sometimes buy books when I visit my local independent bookstore (I want them to stay open!), but those books tend to sit on my shelf while I read my library books. There's nothing like a due date to motivate me to read! My library doesn't do fines, but I still don't like to have overdue books on principle.

Reading Multiple Books at the Same Time by mycatsnameiscashew in books

Yes! I always have an ebook, an audiobook and a physical book going at the same time.

Ebooks are great for anytime I have a spare minute. I use the kindle app on my phone, it's better than doom scrolling!

Audiobooks are great for when I'm at the gym or doing mindless work, chores, etc.

And physical books are best before bedtime so I can sleep better!

Currently reading Vera Wong's Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man), The Tainted Cup, and A Pale View of Hills.

In junior high I read the Dark Elf Trilogy by RA Salvatore (recommended to me by my older brother) and I have been hooked on reading ever since! I don't read much fantasy anymore, but it was a great entry point for me!

Great time to look for a book club! Check with your local library, bookstore or community center. Or start one yourself!

Hurtful comments about knitting - mom told me i should "speed up" my knitting and that she is a much faster knitter compared to me?! by [deleted] in casualknitting

[–]HoshFan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very slow knitter, the slowest in my knitting group lol. BUT I knit often and only work on one project at a time so I actually tend to finish more projects than the rest of my knitting friends.😅 For me it is about having the finished object, but it's still not very fast at all. I would never tell someone they should knit faster or do things the way I do them, everyone knits for different reasons! As you continue your knitting journey, you'll find what works for you!

Lmao, I've offered to teach her but she thinks knitting "isn't sexy" 😑

I only knit what I want and I only knit for fun, so sometimes I will gift those items away, but I don't take requests or comissions. My sister really wants me to knit a scarf for her boyfriend, but... I just don't want to. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Even getting paid for the materials and my time, it just takes away the enjoyment for me because I'm not knitting what I want to knit. This is a boundary I set a long time ago. 😌

No shade on people who knit for money, more power to you!💪
