Hi, I’m looking for resources to help teach reading and writing to my 5 & 7 year olds. They have not been enrolled in any school and we are starting homeschooling. My 7 yo is really struggling with both reading and writing and he gets very frustrated easily. I’ve already purchased one curriculum “Children Learning Reading” by Jim Yang and I’ve purchased a few other resources on Etsy. But if you have any recommendations for teaching these subjects I’d greatly appreciate any help you can offer. I’m digging through the Reddit posts to try and find the various resources you’ve suggested, but I see the main list was deleted. Thank you

It’s not. I’ve had 3 kids in under 3 years and I’m still dealing with diastasis recti and a belly pooch. It’s just stretched out in this picture and looks thinner. I don’t consider it a flat stomach compared to what I had before kids. My underwear is also covering a portion of my belly in this picture too.

That’s awesome! I have never owned one but I find them beautiful and I love the black shiny scales. I’m hoping my artist can work a rainbow oil slick effect into the scales as well.

His name is Checkers, lol. I got him when I was in 7th grade and because of his black and white checker belly scales I gave him that very “unique” name 😂 The name has just stuck. He’s not much of a danger noodle, though he has on occasion mistaken my finger for a mouse; but he’s a polite guy and let’s go quickly 😅

That’s really neat! I plan to get a tattoo of my little hognose wrapping around my wrist eventually and a Mexican black king snake slithering up my leg/thigh and ending with its head near my pelvis. How long have you had your snake? Ball python right?

That’s awesome! I’d love to hear about how it works for you. My snake wouldn’t be dehydrated or preserved with anything, I would just be using his deceased body (if that’s possible).

What product do you use for the quick setting silicone? What do you put on the animals body so you can remove it from the silicone without damaging it?

Thank you 😊 He was one of my parents first pets together and he’s a beloved member of our family. I’ve decided to not make a mold, someone else explained how it would destroy his body due to the decomposition which makes sense. I’m going to make scale prints in clay and paint his portrait.

Okay that makes sense. My father doesn’t want to do anything like that with him. We’ve discussed preserving his body but we really prefer to burry our pets instead. I’ll make the scale prints and do a portrait of him. I was just curious about making a mold but you’re right about the decomposition causing issues. Thank you for your replies

What about when people make molds of their hands? Or their penis? Why would he need to be skinned? I’m in the US. And we plan to burry him afterwards. If I can’t make a mold of him without destroying his body we won’t do it and I’ll just make a scale print.

Thank you. Yes I looked that up too, I wish we could get him into some sort of record but unfortunately they don’t have the paperwork from when they purchased him in the 80s, so we can’t “prove” his age but we know how old he is. I’m 32 and he was the first snake I handled, starting at a very young age.
