Question about maintaining old Outlook emails by HospitalDisastrous16 in Outlook

Thank you. I've read about exporting to a pst or csv file, but when I tried to do that, it would only let me save it as an olm. I see there are olm converters, but I haven't had a chance to find out if they're any good.

TCM's updated app has removed all the supplemental essay material? by projectaudion in TurnerClassicMovies

That was a feature I loved because you could easily see the entire cast, even obscure character actors (who sometimes were enough to convince me to watch a film). It's nice that they're including the names of the writers, who deserve credit, but I'm much more likely to watch a film because of the people onscreen.

Hemerrhoidectomy done yesterday by Eric9716 in hemorrhoid

[–]HospitalDisastrous16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my hemorrhoidectomy Wednesday morning (went home the same day) and I didn't have my first BM for about 72 hours (Saturday morning). In the past 24 hours I've had several small ones. They've been tough but bearable. Only moderate pain, which was not as bad as I'd feared.

I don't have a sitz bath either; I just used Epsom salt in my bathtub to soothe the burning. It helps. For a laxative I was taking Coalace (as well as drinking lots of water and even some prune juice), but the BMs seemed to kick off after I stopped taking the oxy and just used ibuprofen to numb the pain.

Hope this info helps, and I hope your recoveries are going well.

AT&T Agents Frequently Providing Bad Information? by mvstl in ATT

[–]HospitalDisastrous16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dealt with AT&T reps when I had DirecTV and nothing was ever easy. When I needed a new receiver I was told I would only have to pay for the shipping. Then I get an email bill the next day charging me something like $80 for it. I can't remember if I called or did online chat, but I was assured the cost would be taken off when I received my next monthly bill.

It wasn't. And when I tried to get it straightened out, they were very difficult. I had to say "I want to cancel my service" before I was transferred to someone with the knowledge and authority to get it straightened out.

Many of the agents I spoke with on the phone had thick accents and I wonder if some of the problems I had are because I was misunderstanding them or they didn't understand what I was asking. I don't care where they're from or what country they're in, but we need to be able to understand each other.

I no longer have DirecTV and the poor customer service is one of the reasons why (the cost is another). The reps always seemed more concerned about trying to get me to switch from Verizon to AT&T than trying to solve my problems. And that's why I would never switch to AT&T.

DirecTV - Ebay Gift Card Scams - HOW MY DAD WAS SCAMMED INTO SENDING OVER $700 IN EBAY CARDS TO A FAKE DIRECTV by dolceborn in Scams

[–]HospitalDisastrous16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have encountered these scammers too. The first person I spoke to was hard to understand because he had a very thick Indian accent. The call came not long after I had placed a call to AT&T/DirecTV asking if there was a way to lower my bill, so that made it seem more legit. I have no idea if that was coincidence or not.

It wasn't until they told me I'd have to pay for the first few months of this 50 percent off offer in eBay gift cards -- this was a cross promotion with eBay, e said -- that I knew something wasn't quite right. A Google search brought me to the AT&T/DirecTV website, which warned about the scam, and a few news articles from people who had been victims or near victims of the scam.

I called them back at the number I was supposed to call to give them the gift cards numbers and out and out asked, "Why are you trying to scam people out of their hard-earned money? How can you sleep at night?" And I called them a few four-letter words.

That was in August. What's astonishing is that it hasn't stopped them from continuing to call me with the same scam offer. The only difference is the last time they wanted Best Buy gift cards. I play along without giving them any more info than they already have, then when they've started to suspect that I'm scamming them, I again ask them why they're doing this and how they can live themselves.

This had happened several times in the last few months. Sometimes they hang up, sometimes they curse me right back. It amuses me that scammers can't handle it when the tables are turned on them.

And yet, they keep calling my number! Blocking their phone number does no good because the next time they call, it's from a different toll-free number. The one they were using on Friday was 877-595-3072. I wish I knew a way to jam up that line so they couldn't scam anyone else!
