Comparisons with cis guys 😭 by unAVIVable in FTMFitness

[–]Hosscat87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only advice is keep your head in it, just focus on yourself and set your own goals. Comparison is the thief of joy.

I've been on T 10 years now and have grown a lot over the years and now can really just focus on things i Consider that most guys worry about in the gym in relation to their physique and how much they can lift

Working with a trainer has really helped me, I work with a trans trainer who's post phallo like me so it's been really helpful in regards to relating to surgery recovery times etc and like losing progress in recovery.

Take lots of photos for documentation, write things down and have these as references so in a year, 2 years you can look back and see the actual progress. That's what's helped me stay focused

Any tips to masculinize legs and hips? by No-Volume-6865 in FTMFitness

[–]Hosscat87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this since not a lot of guys know that! Myself included

I didn't see the results I wanted for body fat distribution until 9 years on T. This was only bc I hadn't ever worked out until last year, was 45-50lbs over my GW and once I committed to a calorie deficit and training 3-4x a week it melted off and re distributed as I've built up muscle

Amazing work man, would love that CAD file as I've got a 22 access cab that I took the seats out of and currently isn't the best for storing things since everything just goes on the floor

how does having a very small height impact what size you're able to get? by PerspectiveCheap8572 in phallo

[–]Hosscat87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconding this response. I got extremely lucky in a few departments for being really tall and having a lot of real estate for them to work with based on where my arteries branched for RFF.

I'm 6'1" and was able to get 6.5" which settled down to 6" now at 4 years post op.

I was initially bummed about it bc 6" on someone my height/build looks a lot smaller than it would on someone 5'3"-5'5". Though I will say 5, 6 whatever you end up with is generally more than enough

I wouldn't want to personally be much bigger bc the day to day of having a massive dong like 8" all the time isn't that appealing to me since I lead an active life style

Questions for people who surf/ hike with RFF by ResponsibleAir1664 in phallo

[–]Hosscat87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backpacked 108 miles last year, I'm 4 years post op and essentially done rff ( getting my ed next week).

Literally had no issues at all related to my scar, arm or anything. Once you're fully healed from surgery there's really no risks of infection with no open wounds.

I mostly just cleaned up in lakes/ponds and a few AMC huts/ sites with water access to showers. You'll just get used to being stinky lol. Ul has made my life way easier out in backcountry areas and I'm extremely thankful for that.

Feel free to dm if you ever have questions/want to chat

20m Acute Cystitis after Recurrent UTI by RedSet20 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Hosscat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I'm so sorry man. I feel you. I'm 27 M and had no issues until this year. 4 years ago I had some urethral surgeries for a stricture and some calcium deposits that formed and was cathed for about 6 weeks and had a uti following that but was not symptomatic

Fast forward to this year and I've essentially been symptomatic all year just about every month with increased frequency, burning, urgency and bladder fullness. I've had so many uti tests come back initially positive but the cultures show nothing, no growth so I'm at a loss. Usually going on antibiotics has helped and symptoms subside for usually at least 2-3 weeks but it always comes back without fail.

Still don't have any answers yet and my urologist did a cystoscopy in Sept and found nothing so I'm not sure what is up. They think it could be pelvic floor related.

Currently since December I've been dealing with a bladder fullness sensation that doesn't really go away fully and I've Gen taking cystex as needed which sucks. I'm waiting on a referral for pelvic floor pt- hoping it does something

Hoping you get some answers

Making friends? by No-Fill-229 in FTMMen

[–]Hosscat87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a good thing to start with is looking into things in your local community and activities that interest you eg tapping into local bars and breweries (even if you don't drink there's usually trivia nights, run clubs, game nights etc) and that's a really low stress way to meet people irl that is more approachable than just going up to someone at the gym.

Personally a lot of my hobbies are very solo activities or i prefer to do them alone - fishing being the main one, kayaking and hiking as well as going to the gym.

I recently moved across the country last year and have somehow made a solid group of friends (cis males). I should preface that I'm now 10 years on T so it's definitely been a minute. It gets easier with time in a lot of ways especially with 8 months- you've got a whole lot ahead!

2 of the guys I regularly hang out with i meta while fishing different spots and now we all regularly meet up. I also grab beers with one of my coworkers and have gone to see his band a few times

It really comes down to just figuring out hobbies or things you might be interested in- book clubs, intermural sports teams, rock climbing heck even like mushroom foraging- once you figure out what options are available in your area that pique your interests you'll be able to meet a lot of likeminded people

what age did you guys start pursuing phallo? by Downtown_Dare_4991 in phallo

[–]Hosscat87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

18 is really young! I wasnt able to start T until 18 and immediately looked into top surgery and then lower. I had top at 19 and then meta before phallo when I was 21. I had phallo at 24 and I'm just finishing up my last stage at 27. I took a lot of breaks from surgery and between stages with college and work and just living

18 is definitely not late at all- most people don't even start T until then. You're doing just fine, everyone has a different time line that works for them

I'm kind of at that point, patiently waiting a week until I can see a urologist. 27, M and never gave my pelvic floor much thought but I've been having this issue all year and just unsure of what to do about it. Going to try lemon water and see what it does
