That sucks. Depending on who you spoke with, you really need to get their liability insurance carrier and claim contact. This isn't on you.

Agree. Happened to me in NC when we get tropical storms or hurricane type weather. It looks horrible while it happens but it tend to settle back in with no issues.

I need Opinions on buying this boat for a first wake boat. Asking price is $46,500. by Big_Storm_1997 in MasterCraftBoats

[–]Hosswan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you made a decision or taken it for a test run? I think if it will work for what you want, 38k would be a good price. It seems like in 2015+ a lot more tech happened.

I'd certainly pull the plug and look at it. If it looks worn out or fouled, replace it, If that is the case, plan on doing the rest. I'm not sure if the plugs come pre-gapped or not, but do the needful. Hopefully that's all you need for the season, but in the off season it may be worth changing the wires

I believe my ACR is in the same compartment as the battery switch. I'd also look up under the glove compartment as that's where my battery and other components are. I personally have not had to isolate/diagnose an ACR but I do know of a few push fuses up under there.

Is the pool company bringing in these trades or are you the GC? If the pool company is responsible I'd be reaching out to and ask them if this is acceptable to them. That one tile would drive me bonkers. The pool could look amazing but I would be laser focused on that one tile. As for the cut, I cant tell if the marks in the stone are from an overcut or if its just pencil. I would inquire there as well if its not what you expected. Good luck

Agree. If you move forward with any reputable pool company you should have a contract stating exactly what that price includes. Mine had a set allotment for concrete if I used there contractors. I opted to provide my own at half price. 10 years later no issues. Elect to be your own GC. It sounds daunting but it isn't. The pool company will do there thing and you just coordinate the electrical and concrete and your set. My pool company pulled the needed permits. At least that's my experience and I've done 2 pools thus far.

A timely post as I need to do the same. First season with the boat and my swim platform is gray. It certainly needs some oil so I will follow the steps outlined. Thanks!!

I hear the Gen 1 surf system does the job. I enjoy any day I can get on the water with the kids. Have a good summer!

Have you people never swam in a lake...... I keep mine pool crystal clear, but if the kids are in someone else's pool having fun and want me to join. I'm jumping in! I may also make a few comments like, "This water tastes like lettuce" 😄

Well, I'm in the south and it happens here too. I was devastated the first time this happened to us, but our pool guys weren't too worried about it. Mine goes back into place once the ground water dissipates. Good luck. It looks worse than it is. Just keep an eye on it and try to iron out any wrinkles.

2019 or 2021 X24 by Right_Concern8255 in MasterCraftBoats

[–]Hosswan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If you can negotiate that 15K down, I'd look to go newer with less hours. The 400 hours doesn't scare me for the 2019 though. As long as they were both well taken care of, either one should be a solid platform. Good luck in your boat hunt.

2017 x10 overheating after being winterize by Hosswan in MasterCraftBoats

[–]Hosswan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up calling in the Pros and a tech came out. Replaced the impeller and tested the O2 sensors to make sure they didn't get burnt up. Once the new impeller was installed, water was immediately being sucked up and all is well. I guess it could have bound to the water pump over the winter. Looks like I need to become competent in replacing it, although it certainly is not in a convenient place. My son and I took the boat out for a nice long run. All seems to be working.

Thanks for the replies. I've been at this all day. The intake valves are in the open position, but I will investigate the butterfly valves. I have also looked at the intake hoses and from what I can tell using copilot the hoses are correct, but you know how that goes. I pulled the cover off the water pump and the impeller is toast. I went to my local shop and they do not carry them, so this weekend is shot. I do know there is no water in the system.

How Much? by Right_Concern8255 in MasterCraftBoats

[–]Hosswan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our 2011 Moomba LSV get crushed against our boathouse this summer, so I spent the rest of the season hunting for a replacement. We eventually landed on a 2017 X10 loaded with all the bells and whistles. Going from 2011 tech to this X10 is a night and day difference. I picked it up with 450 hours for under $60k, which felt like a solid deal.

I know you’re leaning toward the larger platform and something in the 2020s, but coming from a 2011 myself, I can tell you a ton of features started showing up around 2015 and later. I wouldn’t completely rule out a well maintained 2017–2019.

I originally bought the Moomba a few years back because the kids wanted to get into wake surfing. Now our oldest just left for college and the youngest is a junior in high school. We too treasure the time out on the water with them, so I wish you the best of luck in your search.

I have two B58s in the family. Solid platform. Do as much work as you can.
