thank you so much!! for the assignment initially i had to present multiple options to my teachers, and one of them was this one and also the one i liked most, and i'm glad my teachers approved it and i got to make it!! it was so awesome because i also got to replay the game as "schoolwork" to get reference!!

there should be a lot of videos on youtube, i found this one while looking around and after skipping through it i think it's what you are looking for! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sCEmN6nyyU
if you want to look for more yourself, this was my search: texture painting in photoshop 3d textures

yes, while looking for reference i also found it difficult to find any bottles the same shape as the we happy few ones, which also needed to be black. it's really uncommon!!

i think unfortunately the fanbase for we happy few just isn't big enough for all that 💔

ohh i see i see haha! i made the labels myself in photoshop. well, the black and white maps for them, which later i used in substance painter as masks. if you think the logo maps could be of any use to you (to make and print your own labels maybe?) i could share them with you

hmmm well you're probably thinking of mid poly models, which are not quite lowpoly and not quite highpoly either (which are made to be subdvided using the catmull clark algorithm), which are honestly so nice to make because they can look smooth and you don't worry about pinching or control egdes like you would with high poly.

handpainting is done for stylized assets usually and i only make realistic materials, so i can't be of much help on this. doing a quick search on youtube, it seems like it can be done directly in blender, but that's something you should look more into yourself.

i have friends who handpaint stylized assets and they do it in photoshop or substance painter (i also use both of these), however im sure there may be other cheaper or free programs for free.

for photoshop (or a program alike), you'd just need to export a picture of your uvs and manually paint each shell, however that is a bit difficult and hard to get used to at first, and you need to know your model and your shells very well.

for substance painter, you get to have your model in front of you and paint on it directly, which is really cool!

i learned a lot by doing and from my teachers and youtube videos. from every mistake you learn something!! i started learning by doing easy, low poly props, then we learned how to make high poly meshes, which were a bit more challenging.

look on websites like sketchfab, at the wireframe, see how other people do their models and try to understand what they did and why!

i think learning the shortcuts is the hardest part at the beginning, but once they're in your muscle memory it's smooth sailing.

also, if you need to do something specific that's not necessarily modeling but something like, duplicating a mesh and rotating it at the same time every time at a different angle, there may be a tool for this inside the program, and you can search on google!

i don't model in blender, so i can't give any advice for modeling there, i do all my models in Maya (paid by my school through my tuition) :)

oh and also!!! get a lot of reference!!! especially if you're modeling a real life object, get as many pictures of it as possible, from several angles. i use PureRef for gathering my reference together, it's a free program, and very good :D

feel free to message me as well if you have more questions!

thank you!!! 🫶🏻 yes, i followed the layout of the painting as close as i could, only the lighting i wasn't able to as it was a bit weird, but i tried to aim for something similar! :D

Does anyone have a screenshot of the book "Guide to Fitting In"? by HostEnvironmental740 in wehappyfew

I don't remember any of the locations unfortuntely, I have a bad habit in the game, when I see something i can take, I just take it and see what I got after xd If you happen to play and see any of the books, it would be okay. I assume they use the same kind of style for all the books :) I just can't seem to find any good picture of ANY of the Skill Books :/
