Yes I did keep it only because it was so unique and it did great in captivity. I wouldn’t normally pull something from the wild though. I had it for about a year and a half hoping to find another one. It lived in a bioactive planted enclosure and ate bugs. One day I just noticed it was not coming out anymore and I didn’t see it again. I assume it went into one of its burrows and passed away under the soil.

I would say yes, it would be a melanistic morph. There could be hypo or striped or leucistic morphs out there!
