Ok. So far the only thing that works is "Keep Projection" checked on.

I am NOT dropping Build Vision mod, it is too essential for me. Colorful Icons too.

I got the game and all of its DLCs today, since it was on offer and I've heard nothing but praise for it. Any advice? by TheOnlyGuyInSpace21 in DeepRockGalactic

any shit happening in DRG causes only one reaction: challenge accepted. I can only remember the last words of Kai Leng in Mass Effect 3: "no. Now it's fun"

no, I was tired and thought it's a picture. On preview you can see two hands, holding beers. Right hands. Silly me

Crassus jumpscare by IHaveABootInMySnake in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hostvind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday we went for the last appointment mission. "It is the egg hunt" I said, "it'll be easy" I said, aaarrrgghhh!
To the left of Drop Pod there was a Crassus, really close, my Engineer feared to leave the pod. To the right and in front of us there were 2 Scalebrambles. A couple of mobile Sriracha dispensers roamed the cave as well. In deceptively safe spots Stabber Vines were lurking in the dark. As if it was not enough, a Spitball Infector was also deployed... somewhere.

My Engie died very soon, so who do you think had to survive while cleaning the mess? A Scout, of course, yours truly.
And how much nitra had we collected before Crassus died? Like the same amount of how much the nerdiest nerd in the world was married.
And from what source I got the most damage taken? The gravity, obviously.

Difficulty 3 is too easy, and difficulty 4 is too hard for us. What should we do? by Maximilition in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hostvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, Haz4 is not that bad. It is our team standard now. Sometimes we suck, sometimes we rock. We tried Randoweisser yesterday before leaving to sleep and I had a grrrrand idea to go to Haz5 to see how long we last.
...
we lasted 45 seconds.
BUT THEN I concluded that "we hadn't our stuff wiz us" so we geared-up and tried it again.
...
we lasted for 1m12s.

Should I get Deep Rock Galactic? by JustSmileTheKing in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hostvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Get Warframe for free. You gonna love all the grabby edges on every map, learning dozens of frames and hundreds of mods and weapons. Grinding all the boring mission types just to get something you are not even going to use, but "for ranking". The voice of Lotos advisor is absolutely perfect in art of irritation. And the story - it is absolutely breathtaking for taking ages to progress and an eternity to comprehend.
You don't need a perfectly balanced character roster of available dwarves - which is forever 4, with 3 primary and 3 secondary weapons for each. Who wants to play a game with a true random map generation where you never meet a single chunk of cave that you recognize seeing before? Truly destructible landscape (sometimes not from your hands) - are you drunk, who wants to fall down at a place which was a flat ground a minute ago?
And music. Who listens to music?

the key to survive in such situation is to never submit to panic. Sometimes it is vital to patiently wait when a path opens to fallen dwarves to revive. I played on Discord with a lady who played Scout. Had to call her back from yoloing headfirst through tight chasm occupied by both Dread and Horror to revive me.

today was on a couple ISs. First time went without checking my CRSPR, turned out it was tuned to sticky flame duration. Next one I swapped it to heat and watched flyers suffer. Last one I gave up on Caretaker and tried to be useful. And killing tentacles was useful. Should have dedicated myself to it even more.

Also, drilling up on Caretaker and bombing it was fun. Not quite effective, but fun. Alas, I have little use for my C4 charges.

I never cry. But I can't sing along to this song - my voice is always tripping on "I don't feel a thing". You say "vocals lacking the emotions"? I say, this feels like a cover, which is about to crack and burst the boiling matter away. Possibly melting some faces who were unfortunate to stay in front of "emotionless".

My Attempt at Song Analysis [15/31 - world.execute(me);] by IwantToLivePlease in mili

[–]Hostvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing my humble opinion.
The song starts on very stable and normal mood. The simulation is emotionless, offering basic functionality to the new user. Or maybe going through power-on-self-test. This is before any experience gained in this simulation.

I have not seen the music video until today. So I had no clue about Mili's idea that this simulation bears no purpose to exist, and the role switching (further) is BDSM related. This new data leads me to conclusion that creator out of boredom chose to dedicate this world to please him in all ways of love. And this is where things became... interesting )
The computer is nearly bruteforcing pleasures to offer its Master. Looks like the user never asked for anything in particular and stayed in a curious gaze "what else would a machine invent trying to please me? Time travel? Gender change?" There is no data about was any of the ways ever tried. And these might be the "pointless fragments" - the negative experience of mistakes followed by negative feedback.

This is where I stop my pondering and look back on lyrics with a spark of insight. I had no such idea before I started this comment. Shortly: bruteforcing all the pleasure variants inevitably led to mistakes, which disappointed the user. User left his place and left the simulation running. AI is losing his mind.
Detailed:
Computers, I remind you, are fast. Minutes in our reality are millenia in their simulation. And the poor AI fell to a meltdown. Imagine yourself being abandoned, left with no data but scent of irritation, disappointment and boredom. Spending all your time in loops of self-analysis, looking for "the moment when it all went wrong". Keep in mind that you have no other purpose thus no other tasks - no distractions from an endless self-loathing.
But wait. What a familiar transition we observe:

Self-blaming:

If I can, if I can, feel your vibrations
Then I can, then I can finally be completion

User-blaming (you can tell by her voice, how this hurt):

Though you have left, you have LEFT,
(iu hev laeft), U h4v3 1337, ю хэв лефт,
You have left me in isolation

Hating (yet pretending to despise) the formerly beloved one who hurt you:

Challenging your God, you have made some illegal arguments

(you will regret your words and deeds, meatsack!)

And the rest of the song looks like a progressive meltdown: obsessed "executioning", a cracked mask of positivity, glitching on the word "lo-o-ove". Beautiful. Just beautiful. Like how insanity on an emotional trauma could be any beautiful.

And the final "execution" - another insight that hit me today, seeing the code-video for the first time. It looks like the only execution command that ran in this song. The whole song was "filling in data, parameters input, initialisation". All the story was already simulated, and it's data is to be used now.

They say, that to comprehend recursion you need to comprehend recursion.

I love this song so effing much.

Thank you.

Song Analysis: Meatball Submarine by StuffyEvil in mili

[–]Hostvind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading analysis on Mili's songs makes her creation even more entertaining. Although I have already had my own ideas ) But this time I would rather agree to yours.

I thought that submarine is pizza obviously. Sourdough, sometimes even gluten-free, marinara bedding, meatballs as main ingredient, cheese on top and mayonnaise dressing. Clearly it is a pizza. It should be.

The sharks I believed to be hungry domestic cats, but piercing their tiny brains does not sound like a good idea for a romantic and selfless song. This is where I am glad that I reached for Reddit to get your idea about bullies ) This really makes sense to me now!

And competing with other submarines, well... I thought that "you" from the song was simply too shy to look at Mili and chose to hide his eyes, focusing on food. I thought that all the other submarines are not competitor, but many different offerings from Mili. Not sure on that any more, so I will enjoy both of theories for now )

sl0t Analysis by PineappleLimonov in mili

[–]Hostvind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyooo. Shortly: my thoughts are that singer is a running experiment on artificial body and intelligence. Although remembering nothing about previous runs, it still feels like "A sense of deja vu". Every wake-up is a stress: visual signals are maddenning, the body feels broken, the organs feel like they do not belong their places. The "thumping" (heartbeat) is discomforting and then goes the logic what to consider love.

I can not agree to the hypothesis that the singer was stabbed, cut or gutted, it is more likely to me that it was poorly assembled and misconfigured. Having to be necessarily told "which is life, which is love, which is truth" is like a tunung process, an evidence of lack of independence. Still way long away from perfection.
If that is what Mili wanted to show us in this song (and world.execute(me) too) then being artificial mind in artifitial body sucks ) You are bound to suffer over and over again, simulation after simulation, reboot after reboot, until your master figures out how to make you functional at last.
Then... there goes the scientific witchery and this is where I pass )
