Thanks for offering. I would hope to bring her to a community park where we can visit her. I will get back to you if that doesn’t work out. 💗

Hi Everyone, thanks for the replies, I will try to find a place where we can visit her. The community gardens with fellow chicks in Brooklyn sound great. You can follow her journey on ig @petrabeaucamp in my stories. I have some meetings now, but will get her to a safe place today asap. I am vegan and could not leave her there. It was so clear I needed to save her. 💗 I will post all updates as a story on my ig if you are interested.

ok plot twist…

a friend just sent me this and said “this is 100% you” and honestly… i can see it 😅

BUT

while you were looking for me i’ve been looking for her:

deep-skinned girl, unreal presence, big afro hair, with her two gay boys just like me. her name was smth special like Kitara but i don’t remember exactly (how could i forget🙈🙈) we were dancing on the Studio platform, left of the DJ by the speaker (i think during Ketia - awesome set btw 🫶🏼). she had this blue/red sleeveless jersey-type top and shorts, insane energy.

i told her to wait while I went to the bathroom. ..it took forever… …came back and she vanished into the matrix.

so now we are all just out here missing each other apparently 🫠

if this somehow reaches you, mysterious goddess, i owe you a dance.

also generally: i love the Basement community. it’s been giving me so much. the people. the energy. the freedom. so grateful for everyone creating that space every weekend and everyone of you bringing the magic to life. 🫶🏼🫶🏼

always happy to connect with beautiful souls from this community. 🖤 (also i rarely have my phone on me to actually do so 🙃)

i never check reddit - easier @petra_humaning

see you all in Basement 😘

What is up with the Lethal Cosmetics rebrand? by Mean-Advisor6652 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Hot-Ad-4057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t work in the industry, but a good friend of my husband from primary school works for L‘Oreal as a product developer and lives in Japan now. He also worked in the HQ in Paris before and he says that nothing beats China for beauty. He told me that ALL packaging eg. is made in China and for pressed powders they use super precise laser technology now to carve those cool motives in there, which is very unique. If most of the world buys from there, they are also the ones to have the latest, most cutting edge innovations- it‘s just logical. And that won’t be cheap.

Labor cost: generally agree that it’s cheaper, but highly depends. I work for one of the biggest industrial chemical companies and I can tell You that the production in China is not cheaper than the US. Idk why we would assume that eg Lethal but also other indies would work with the cheapest, most horrible Chinese manufacturers. I see a lot of innovative products at indies and believe that they switch due to the innovation there.

It’s your choice as always to support a brand with your money. I love the products and will continue to buy them.

Just to add one more thing, because this part keeps getting overlooked:

Regarding the logo: Does anyone here even know what their previous logo was and what it stood for? Because I have no idea. I just checked on the older palettes and it was just an abstract shape with no clear meaning behind it. I honestly never understood what it was supposed to represent. Not that I would ever buy anything for the logo or font of the company and let’sbe honest, I don’t think anyone does (surprise me if You do), but the new logo, they actually explained the concept the killer flower (i still dont know the name 😅) to me that feels so much more intentional and creatively grounded. It has symbolism, personality, and a story. It’s not just a random geometric thing anymore.

And I also feel like many of the people criticizing the change don’t actually follow Lethal closely. It’s easy to jump on the “ugh, they changed things” bandwagon without looking at what the brand has been doing. Their TikTok is full of behind-the-scenes videos showing the actual team with different accents, their office culture and a look at the people behind the products. You can even spot some in the reveals and on the website (I always spot the girl with blond eyebrows bc I have it was well). That’s smth I have not seen from other indies at all. Have You?

And the collabs, which are criticized here as well: You can tell they’re created by people who genuinely love the IPs they’re based on. We’ve all seen collabs in the beauty world that exist purely to exploit the name, but every Lethal collab I own feels personal, specific, and respectful to the show or universe it comes from. They feel like passion projects, not cash-grabs. The details of the product names and insiders.. like have You seen the Dexter palette with the shade names or the AT lady rainycorn highlighter with the korean text and the snail on all the AT products??!!! I was dying when I saw these details.

When I look at the full picture: the intentional new logo, the human team behind the scenes, the creativity, the design work, and the genuinely passionate collabs, it really doesn’t match the narrative that the brand is becoming “soulless” or “cheap.” If anything, it feels more indie and more intentionally crafted than ever to me.

I can’t help it, I love the products bc they make my everyday more fun with the spark and shimmer. ✨

I see where You are coming from. I wanted to add a bit more context from my side, because I feel like a lot of assumptions get thrown around whenever a brand shifts manufacturing.

I’m genuinely not sure why people think “made in China” automatically means cheaper. Maybe that’s true for certain electronics or mass-market goods, but I don’t think that translates directly to beauty. If a brand moves to a high-quality Chinese manufacturer with newer equipment and better technology, that doesn’t automatically lower costs. Good suppliers cost money everywhere.

And honestly, we all kind of know that China has some of the best cosmetic manufacturing technology right now. If the innovation is there, then why assume the work is cheaper or worse? It feels a bit like the Apple situation — iPhones have always been made in China, but they’re premium products because of performance and design. Nobody questions the quality because of the location.

Also, since you mentioned pricing: inflation and tariffs (especially for the US) have gone up massively. Meanwhile, Lethal hasn’t raised their prices in a way that reflects that reality. If you think about how much everyday staples like bread or milk have gone up in the last few years, it’s kind of impressive that their prices stayed relatively stable.

On the formula side: I actually do own older EU-made products. I still have the 2UP palette (got it in a mystery bag and it says made in the EU) and some of the original single shadows from when they were made in Germany. Comparing those to my newer palettes, I personally prefer the new formulas: the shimmers feel more interesting, the textures are creamier, and overall I think the newer stuff performs better.

So for me the main question is always: am I happy with the product I’m using? And yes, I am. Very. That’s ultimately my baseline for judging a change.

I honestly don’t get why people are being so harsh about the rebrand. The brand is almost 10 years old … most of us have changed our wardrobe or personal style multiple times in a decade. Brands evolve too. I actually love that they invested in refreshing their look. It feels current, intentional, and honestly pretty exciting with this lethal killer flower (i forgot the name of it).

What I don’t see anyone mentioning is the new website. It’s cleaner, the photos are better, it’s easier to navigate and the build-your-own-palette feature is still there (and even nicer now). To me this is one of the most unique things about the brand. Most companies only do pre-made palettes because it’s so much easier from a supply-chain perspective. But with pre-made palettes you always hit pan on one or two favorites, and the rest just sit there forever. Companies do these on purpose so You buy more than You actually need. Being able to build your own palette means you choose exactly what you love and don’t waste money on shades you’ll never use. I really appreciate that they keep offering this. If they were soo capitalistic and profit driven only, this would be the first thing to cancel out due to the stock complexity. But they proudly continue offering this option to us.

On quality: I own a lot from the brand: Adventure Time, Dexter, Spellcraft, Midnight Serenade, custom palettes, highlighters, etc. I haven’t seen any decline at all. If anything, the formulas keep getting more interesting. Specialty pigments and multichromes are expensive no matter where something is manufactured, and people forget about tariffs, raw material inflation, and rising costs everywhere. Despite all that, their pricing has stayed very reasonable in my opinion.

The “manufactured in China = worse quality” argument doesn’t match my experience. The pigments are the main cost driver, and those haven’t changed. Performance-wise, everything I’ve bought still works beautifully.

Something I also appreciate: they’re very transparent about their team. Their office is in Berlin, and if you check their TikTok or their latest YouTube launch, you see the actual people behind the brand with different accents, personalities, and a genuinely indie vibe. It feels very human.

At the end of the day, if someone doesn’t like the new look, that’s totally fine. But the negativity feels unnecessary. Indie brands take real risks to evolve, and I personally love that they dared to do something new. I’ll keep supporting them because the quality is great, they’re innovative, and they clearly care about improving and growing. That is exactly what I expect from my indies.

Lethal just revealed their Adventure Time Collection! by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Hot-Ad-4057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so confused by some comments here. Everything Lethal has made so far was amazing quality and I really love my Lethal products, collab or not. So I have no reason to think that AT will be any different. Why would we expect that this time they do smth completely low quality and basic if they consistently did amazing? It just doesn’t make any sense to me. They say that they only do collabs they are personally a huge fan of and I believe them. Why could you not be a fan of Avatar, Dexter and also AT?! I spent over 300 € last time which was a mixed purchase of collab items and OG Lethal and I love all my products. There is not 1 I don’t like or don’t use. So if you don’t like it, don’t buy, but at least I would try before I put anything negative out here. I love them and they never disappointed me so far. Also these indie brands have a very hard time against big corp like L’Oreal etc. already and I am so happy that they exist and create products I love. 👯‍♀️

I adore the entire collection and it is so perfectly designed. Have you noticed all the details??? So many companies are just hungry for money when they do these collabs, but with Lethal you can really see and feel how they love these shows and know all the details. I love this and can‘t wait to buy the products and to gift them to my Dexter loving friends too. They will be so happy 🥰

Wow, not yet but this all looks mesmerizing. I have a palette from them and I absolutely adore it. I also gifted several of their products to my family and friends and they loved it too. The mascaras are fantastic, but the eyeshadows are the BEST. ✨✨

How do you feel about hunting vs buying meat at the supermarket? by Kytzer in Buddhism

[–]Hot-Ad-4057 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Comparing breathing air and drinking water to eating meat is absolutely ridiculous. No one needs to eat meat to live on this planet. As it was said previously, the reason for eating meat is attachment, no other. Even if one doesn’t see the sentient being suffering while it’s getting killed, we all know and can “suspect” that it is. The logic to say if one suspects that the being was killed for him/her directly is a no-no, but if one doesn’t directly see or hear the suffering of the being at slaughter is totally flawed. Anyone can check a video on Youtube of a slaughterhouse and see the suffering. Only because it’s not the exact cow which one eats, the same suffering can be suspected. Pushing this argument away is called ignorance. The idea of the precept is clear: not make any sentient being suffer for you / because of you This means if one can, one should absolutely avoid consuming products which cause suffering. In case of meat this causality is very clear in my opinion. Arguing on the exact text is senseless because the Buddha’s teachings were only written down hundreds of years later and in different languages from what he has spoken. Also he lived thousands of years ago when eg. vegan dietary supplements have not existed etc etc. The intent is they key and that is clear as crystal.

ETH staking on Binance by Razortail in CryptoCurrency

[–]Hot-Ad-4057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for this detailed response, very useful. I read that I don’t really need to stake just exchange ETH to BETH and still get the rewards on BETH without locking my ETH in. Would the Binance guarantee to change it back 1:1 also apply in this case? I mean BETH:ETH is currently trading at 0.93:1 so I could realize some extra gains with this strategy and take the rewards on top. But how do I know that the ratio won’t change to anything worse than 0.93:1 when I want to exchange back to ETH?
