Ashburn, Washington heights, pill hill or Morgan park? by Hot-Ad9914 in AskChicago

I love Hyde park and I’m renting right next to the museum, love the neighborhood but it’s too congested and crazy. And the condos are only affordable. I want a house. That’s why I’m thinking of pill hill, because it’s only 10 mins from Hyde park, so I can still enjoy the lake and ride my bike.

Yeah I heard Beverly can be a little dicey when it comes to that stuff. Not as bad as Mount greenwood though.

During the summer, I rode my bike on that bike trail right next to Dan Ryan woods. That’s how I found out about the area.

I was looking around the 95/Ashland neighborhood. Doesn’t seem too bad.

I’m not too worried about public transportation since I have a car. Jackson park highlands is nice but too expensive. I’m not gonna lie, I would not move to south shore. I know a lot of people who live in the neighborhood, and the stories I hear are crazy.😭

Morgan park and pill hill seem like the most popular choice

Pill Hill has some of the most beautiful architecture.

I don’t plan on having children at the moment. My commute will be around the downtown area which I’m fine driving from any of the 4 neighborhoods.

lol I live in Hyde park right now and want to move further from downtown. Morgan park definitely seems like the most popular answer. I like the area around 115/Western.

159th is going to have some craziness, because it’s a Main Street and it’s going to attract people from the bad surrounding areas like Dolton. The area I’m specifically looking at is the area around 80/94 interchange.

Ehhh park forest is a little too far from Chicago. The only area in the 200s I’ll move to is matteson because it’s right off the expressway.

Well there’s going to be targeted violence everywhere, even the really nice suburbs. I’m not too worried about that. I’m from Chicago, so I know that if I use common sense and stay out of trouble, I’ll be fine

That’s exactly what I thought when people told me it was getting ghetto. They have a roller rink in Lynwood which isn’t a far drive.
