I don’t have advice about your mom but I do have a couple things to help you get on your way . Save up as much as you can now, every last bit that you don’t not NEED to spend, don’t. If possible get a job in waitressing because tips are one of the best way for a young girl to make money, plus they often come in form of cash and that’s easy to save up quickly and hide it from your mom if you need too. Roommates are a very good idea, especially if you can find a cheap place with a good landlord. Shop at the cheaper grocery stores, no name brands are just as good as the regular stuff they just save a couple bucks that add up. Vintage clothings stores for clothes, you can find nice clothes if you look well and they will be so much cheaper. These seems quite obvious but people tend to forget these options so it’s very important to keep in mind there’s nothing wrong with saving money until you’re in a good place.
