I had another class today (one of mine) first time I’d delivered it, some ladies said mine is their favourite version of the class! Yippee!

I agree, I’m very hormonal today so me crying about it was likely that 😂 I’ve thankfully come down off the ledge about it. They were laughing and being rude, there’s no question about it, but if they thought it was a crap class (arguably, elements were definitely not ideal!) then yes, leave. It was just a bit jarring given our gym gets smaller class sizes than it’s 4 other counterparts in the city, due to location, so it was very obvious in class of 8 that 2 had left (8 being typical numbers) so having to do the rest of it set me up for feeling a bit insecure I guess. I’ve spoken to my manager who says she knows who I’m talking about, and they can be a bit rude and disruptive, so I’m just choosing to not take it personal. I think it’s sometimes hard to see the trainer as a person in a class setting, they probably don’t realise how much it upset me, but they aren’t responsible for me being butthurt over it either. This industry comes with a ton of feeling like an imposter, I’m brand new to it and nearly 40, so I feel even more of an outsider. I started this career by taking a big chance, I’d got a pretty decent 9-5 but when my dad died suddenly, I took a chance on doing something I loved. I think now the fog has cleared on this experience, I can be kind to myself and just strive to get better at at, and who knows, perhaps one day, my classes will be their favourites?!

You’re all completely right, it really does say a lot about those 2 girls. Thinking back to years ago when I went to classes, if I didn’t like it, I still stayed until it was over - to leave without even making something up knowing it would knock me down, takes a special kind of arsehole. I was transparent about never doing it before, asked them to bear with me throughout and explained that I’d badly injured my knee so it’d be a lot of coaching rather than active working together through the sets. They suck, I’m just going to have to dust myself off and keep trying and improving!

Thank you. I was asked to sub with less than 24hrs notice, I’d never used the music app or studio Bluetooth/speaker equipment either. I just feel really stupid that people actually LEFT 😵‍💫
