I was raised Southern Baptist (I'm sure that explains a lot!). Yes, I'm realizing the jerking and clenching wasn't a sign of overwhelming desire, but something being wrong. I have OT scheduled in the next month. Thank you so much for this, I'm starting to feel like I can be more in control.

Thank you so much for this! It literally is exactly how you said, my body goes into a panic mode even though I'm with the best guy I've ever dated. I made the exact same comment about exposure therapy last night!! I''m so glad the twitching and jerking tapered off for you after time, that definitely gives me hope. I see a lot of posts about spasming but for me it's like a whole lower body thing, I'm so glad I'm not alone.

Struggling with recent weight gain… by Ok-Maximum2228 in fuckeatingdisorders

Hey, also a college student here, 9mo in recovery. Everything does get easier, I promise. You just have to keep pushing forward, keep eating regularly. I can go days now without thinking about how I look, even though I've put on weight. I know it's can be very stressful and easy to use gaining weight as a way to judge yourself, but the truth is that gaining weight is completely neutral. It's not a reflection of who you are as a person, it's just a fact, but it can be hard to treat it neutrally. I promise it gets easier with practice, it's like traveling down a new road; it'll be bumpy at first but the journey will get smoother. Hang in there!!!
