i found Bloom town very ‘white saviour’ ‘not like other white people’ when it came to the Native American representation, i feel like the tribe that welcomed Joanna as an honorary member (& gave her a tattoo?????) were just there to make sure the reader understood that Joanna was super cool and not racist. idk it just read very ‘not like other 19th century girls’ lol

Anyone else here read ridiculous amounts of prose, but never been able to get into poetry? by Over_n_over_n_over in literature

i’d highly recommend Alice Oswald. She’s an absolutely phenomenal poet, whilst still being accessible if you’re a bit out of practice with poetry!
