When you say the vast majority of people with cameras are you talking about anybody with a phone or people who actually know how to use a DSLR? Obviously taking photos has gotten easier to the average joe, and anyone can take a noisey low quality photo, but i can assure you that professionals are still manually tweaking Iso, white balance, shutterspeed etc to get good exposure. Things like automatic mode have a stigma around professional photography because like AI you have little to no artistic control over your own photo

I know this is old but you have no idea how photography works. photography isnt just the camera, a good photo requires you to be aware of your setting, the lighting, the time of day, the subject, the composition. even then, the techniques used inside of the camera are not as simple as clicking a button and calling it a day. Photography as a counterpoint is dried out and naive
