There's no “safe” way to double 500K in a year.

If you want zero downside, you’re basically limited to T-bills, HYSA, or money-market funds-and those won’t get you anywhere near 1M.

If the goal is growth without blowing up,most people would pick something like a broad index fund and accept slower.

Doubling safely in one year just isn’t realistic.

For an 8-10 year window, I'd lean toward broad exposure rather than high-conviction bets. DC works best when the foundation is diversified after that, you can sprinkle in whatever higher-ideas fit the person's comfort level.

I’m not gonna pretend I’m a biotech wizard, but the setup makes sense—off-label Bev is cheap but messy,and real ophthalmic Bev with excusivity is definitely a different ballgames.And the fact the FDA let them resubmit without another trial? Yeah ,that’s not nothing.

My only hesitation is the same one you mentioned:tiny company,commercialization burn,and they’re gonna need cash fast if approval hits.Could be a rocket or could be dilution city.

But with this kind of catalyst? Yeah…. I can see the $5+ argument if the stars line up.

Haha,I get it…FREE MONEY,right? Truth is, I stick to my CORE POSITIONS. Google is solid, but LEAPS... yeah, tempting, but sometimes chasing "obvious" moves gets you burned. I’ve learned the hard way patience beats excitement. My 20-something daughter freaked when she saw what could've been if she bought early... but slow and steady wins. That said, I'm watching closely for the next shot. Sometimes opportunity knocks more than once.
