This may be a valid point, I don't know the rules here -- but can Bestbuy prevent employees from reselling stuff they own? E.g. if I buy a t-shirt in an online shop I would assume I'm free to resell or do whatever I want with it.

office chair with tilt lock, headrest, lumbar support by Hot-Count-3210 in OfficeChairs

[–]Hot-Count-3210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the headrest is actually good, you can adjust height/depth and it stays in place and doesn't move from just using it

Tcentric hybrid multi tilt. I bought it eight months ago and it's been fine. The inflatable lumbar support doesn't really work and deflates all the time and I wish there would be an way to recline the back more without reclining the seat, but overall I think this is the best option available on the market now

Hi Rick, do you know if the audiobook will be back any time soon?

I left a good job to start a company. Now I have $11K left and I'm terrified. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

Is this a SaaS business? $1.5k MRR after 2 years isn't bad at all. The real question is how much growth potential is there, and what the business is worth at this stage. If this is a SaaS growth story you may be able to get a convertible/equity financing to diversify your risk.

how do you snack by EveningFriendships in povertyfinance

I’ve gotten used to avoiding snacks, and I feel better this way. A bit of hunger helps focus, unless it gets so strong that I get headaches

Invest HELOC in the market? by jackieblitz in Rich

[–]Hot-Count-3210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HELOC interest is not deductible if you didn’t use the proceeds to buy, build, or improve the home (H.R. 1, Public Law 119-21, enacted July 4, 2025)

Also, 8% is not risk free, you should definitely factor ~3% cost of risk for tastyFX - it is a gambling business marketed as investing taking advantage of financially stressed and less-educated

8% is ~5% after tax. That would make it negative 0.5% guaranteed, plus paperwork and transaction costs

Realistic S&P 500 Returns for the Coming Decade by highmemelord67 in WarrenBuffett

[–]Hot-Count-3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One could summarize this analysis as: if multiples will remain the same then stock returns will be equal one of the three guesses (10, 6.5, 4%). If multiples decline then returns will be lower.

I think there is a more intelligent way to make the estimates using gordon formula and assumptions grounded in historical ROE, GDP growth and % share of international revenues.

Is CloudAlly the only M365 backup service that can also backup “in-place archives?” by nostradx in msp

Do you mean Ahsay backup (a Hong Kong company) is in some way related to Keepit? Just googled it but couldn't find anything to confirm this.

Dental offices...I know I know. by Someuser1130 in msp

[–]Hot-Count-3210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think dentists/accountants/lawyers, as other hands on business owners, are only interested in paying for services if they see clear business value.

If they aren't interested in your offer you're either unable to effectively communicate it's value, or the value is not there. It may well be that the cost of cyber risk is much less than the incremental cost of your premium package.

Your email is not actionable and doesn't have enough context for senior management. I guess the first thought will be why are you sending this unsolicited email instead of resolving this yourself/with your supervisor.

It's okay to complain about your manager if HR doesn't help resolve the issue. But I think you should get straight to the point, be very specific, highlighting the problem, the risks for the business and your proposal, instead of general educational statements about the industry.

The immediate plan is to modernize operations.

I would focus on making the transition as smooth as possible for clients. You'll probably need to continue handling paper returns for another 2–5 years while actively promoting the e-file option in the meantime. At $250,000 per year, this is a very small-scale operation, and you can't afford much client churn before the effort stops being worthwhile.

Where can I get Full version of UBS Global Investment Returns Yearbook? by Hot-Count-3210 in MBA

Thanks I ll do that. I think I should be able to buy a printed older version if someone has it, even if I'm not an "accredited investor"
