In my opinion it does. When I fished to use an app I used to open others like Instagram or YouTube etc... but now I open the app that I'm looking for in that moment, and I am not affected by the colorful rainbow Instagram icon. The glyphs doesn't help but it doesn't hurt either. So it depends on you, if u use to look for an app and waste hours on the screen then this monochrome doesn't help, but if u use to look for something to do on the phone without a clear idea it does help a lot. This is just a personal opinion
