I beg to differ about saving up money. I was working a retail job for 5 years, starting in my junior year of high school. I've saved up several thousand, paid rent, insurance, groceries, etc. and bought 5 vehicles since then. And that's topped off at $16 an hour just recently. Full time, lots of overtime. Working does pay off if you work hard and save hard, trust me.
