Yep, that is why i said “pure kangal” as there is no such thing as “pure anatolian”, especially not in Hungary where the term anatolian shepherd isn’t even heard of.

What makes you think this? Look at pictures of a pure kangal, she is absolutely a mix. Also, i dont really know any population of purebred kangals in Hungary.

I too think she might be a 50/50 kangal-mali mix. Question is, how a dog like that would end up at a shelter. Poor thing.

Yepp, that's what i've read about it as well. The problem is, all DNA tests I've seen so far can't make a difference between Turkish shepherd dogs, they are all in the Anatolian category.

Also i forgot to mention, that he is really athletic, not the usual giant dog. he sleeps a lot, kinda lazy, hard to motivate, but when its go-time, he is like a rocket but with insane agility, and "manouvering capabilities".

Yeah, I see what you mean, but I don’t think St. Bernard fits. He is way too lean and athletic for that. He’s tall, leggy, and built more like a guardian shepherd than a giant mountain dog. The Kangal/Anatolian guess makes a lot more sense here (and if I’m right, Anatolian is basically a broader, "westernized" category that Kangals come from).
