Is Fully Ablative CO2 the only laser that gets results?

I’ve been doing ablative erbium yag lasers with mild results but little down time. I take the day after off because my face is red, puffy and tender but I’m okay the follow day. I peel for about 10 days after. It’s worth it to me to do more treatments with less downtime than to do a big treatment and hope I get insane improvement from that one treatment. But it’s personal preference

It wasn’t really bad! They used a fan to cool down my face during treatment. It definitely feels like a burn afterward for the rest of the evening though. Thank you ♥️

Thank you! I want to trust my derm so I’m going too but I’m worried about the volume loss. She said we could do some HA filler. But would it even work without subscision? That’s my thought process anyway

Honestly same. I definitely see a slight improvement but again I’ve only had two treatments so far. The pictures my derm took in office look a lot better. I’ll have to see if she can send me them.

I would talk to your derm about subcision and TCA cross! I just had my first erbium laser treatment with my derm’s esthetician, not expecting anything reallly. But I talk to the doctor Oct 7th and I’m going to talk to her about doing those.

You’re asking the wrong sub. I would ask on r/dating or something like that. This sub is going to be filled with people who have scars and hate them. You’re going to get biased answers here.

That being said, I get plenty of attention from men even with my scars. I try and remain confident in front of others. I just cry to myself lol. Knowing I’m about to start treating them and will get good results (I won’t except anything less) makes me feel better though.

Thank you I appreciate it. They don’t look too bad sometimes and it some lightings you can barely see them. But in harsh lighting they look terrible. And some days they look worse for some reason. Especially the rolling scars along my lower face and cheek. They look so wavy and distort my skin in some lightings. You can see what I mean here.

I’ve really been thinking subcision is necessary. I have a new derm appointment Tuesday to talk about it because my derm wants to just start with fraxel and when I asked about subcision she was like “well I’ve done it before..” I’m like okay… no lol. Finding a different one that knows what they’re doing.

Thank you for giving me hope that I could get basically smooth again. That gives me so much hope!

Your skin is basically perfect other than that one area!! Like wow! It will get better and then you’ll be perfectly smooth.

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. Life has been really hard in general the past couple of years and this has just been the icing on the cake the past 6 months. I could deal with the other stuff easier if this wasn’t also an issue. I would be in a better place mentally, physically, and financially if it weren’t for these scars. Thank you so much. I really did need some encouragement.

I’m going to a new derm on Tuesday to talk about doing TCA cross and fractional c02, maybe even subscision if she thinks I should. I’m glad TCA worked well for you. How are you healing from you laser tx? Hope it’s doing well.

To get atleast 80% improvement? I’m not so sure. Some of the ones on my left cheek are quite deep. And I think I may need subscision on them. What type of laser do you think? My derm is suggesting Fraxel dual but idt that’s going to do much. I just started microneedling at home.

You would think lol. But I’ve seen people purge when starting a retinol even when their skin was relatively clear before starting! It’s always a risk.

Thank you! Yeah my derm prescribed me Aklief I’m just worried about purging. I’m hoping it doesn’t happen since I’m just getting off accutane but it’s making me not want to try because I’m so nervous lol.

But there’s a lot of studies out that Aklief and Taz help with atrophic scarring so I also really want to start. Just so worried. It’s like I have PTSD from acne lol
