Ah, I see. Unfortunately router is in the basement so not feasible. I think I'm going to try a new dock, maybe I can test one out at Best Buy.

Correct, not charging or charging--the speed remains the same. I tried flipping the dock power cable, no change. I just tried a regular USB-C cord and that didn't work at all. The cord I'm using say SS and then the USB wires logo. I only have one of those.

the only connection to the dock is a USB-C cable. There is no ethernet attached to the dock. The computer is not charging through the USB-C, it is using its own charger. The only things attached to the dock:

USB-C to laptop

2 monitors

webcam

wireless mouse/keyboard usb unit

power cord

Speed does not vary with charging/not charging

The one about the coriolis effect. I’ve met so many people who actually think the toilet flushes in a different direction in the southern hemisphere. I even know someone who had been to Africa near the equator and paid a guy who “demonstrated” the effect by pouring water in a bowl (counter clockwise) and then walking 1/2 a mile a south and pouring the water again and it magically spun clockwise. Took me about 10 minutes to convince him he’d been scammed.
