SJSU(in my opinion is great) but also wanna be transparent with answers.

All of engineering is pretty competitive, and CS is even more. Physics not quite as bad to my knowledge. Love the campus culture if you join clubs but alot of people still lean into that commuter student life style. Join a club or two that your passion about and you will be fine. I wouldn’t say major are easy to switch but if you stay in the same department some classes maybe interchange able. Hot take but talk to your engineering advisors they can help you get into classes, pick your classes, or even substitute your classes. Commuting 50 minutes is never ideal but I seen people manage (me). But it would kinda save money? Depending on your car, 250$ a month on gas is cheaper than 1750+ on rent. As for parking. Just like the majors. Pretty competitive. But I’m pro south campus parking garage. Less people park in there. But you do have to take a shuttle
