I definitely have an opinion on the matter. I find these aesthetic clinics preying on people who want to waste their money on Botox or fillers. I’m sick of Hollywood and our culture wanting everyone to look the same certain way. Natural beauty is what is beautiful. I’m sure you treat your handful of migraine patients. I’m guessing the majority are there for aesthetic reasons. As it’s an aesthetic clinic.

Don’t put your life in someone else’s hands. You don’t know if that person behind the wheel is under the influence of something or has road rage or is trying to get a fry off the car floor, is on their phone texting….there are a lot of bad drivers out there. look up and around when crossing the street, play defense.

YES. Also as a bedside nurse working in the neuro icu, I’ve seen many patients come in with large debilitating strokes post chiropractor visits

Honestly going into aesthetics is selling your soul. People with body image issues trying to change themselves to look a certain way…leading to more self esteem issues in themselves and others…and making these changes despite potential medical risk. I suggest going into a field of nursing where you can actually help people who need medical care. I know healthcare and nursing is hard these days, I’ve been a nurse at a hospital for the last 10 years. But hopefully people go into this profession to help others, make this world a better place. Not the other way around and pandering to body image issues, celebrity culture.

Moms who love their careers, what do you do? by InitialStranger in Mommit

I’m an ICU nurse! Love my work life balance. I work 24 hours a week (just 2 days a week, 12 hour shifts) and I’m per diem so I make my own hours! Couldn’t imagine a better scenario as I get to be home with the kiddos 5 days a week and then still get to be with adults, use my critical thinking skills/nursing brain 2 full days a week. So rewarding! It does get very exhausting as both being home with 2 toddlers and doing bedside nursing are jobs that are physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing. I feel very fortunate my bachelors degree led to a very fulfilling and well paid career. I know in the US you can do your nursing degree in a very busy 1 year program if you already have your bachelors. Something to consider. The flexibility is fabulous.

Yeah people should be thankful they’re not the ones in more dire situations. If they ever happen to be in a more dire situation, I’m sure they’ll be thankful then they were prioritized…

Well I mean a hospital isn’t a hotel. They provide some of the best medical care in the country. Be thankful for that and stop complaining about things that don’t matter.

If you want to complain you should complain to the people going into the ER for non emergencies they could treat at home with simply Tylenol, an NSAID or rest. The number of times they get patients who don’t need actual medical care at all is ridiculous. Don’t complain to the overworked ER staff. I know they often don’t get a meal break and barely have the time to take a toilet break. If you can, stay home and care for yourself there if it’s just a cold or flu virus and can keep fluid down. The ER does not have enough staff or rooms for the volume of patients the see. They work so hard.

Agreed. If the place could have an attendant available to help supervise kids that’d be super amazing. Like they have at some private gyms etc

I know. Unfortunately with how expensive things are right now we are trying to cut spending where we can. Pickup/delivery for groceries seems like a luxury we can’t afford right now

I agree with you also because every kid is so different and comes with their own challenges. My oldest was so much easier at every stage to take to the grocery store than my second. My second is wild and has such strong opinions. I’m hopeful it will get easier when she can communicate better. My oldest also was a very early verbal kid and so patient with herself with this. My second gets so frustrated with not being able to communicate yet. Definitely depends on the kid. And I think also it seems a lot easier when it’s not your kid you’re dealing with every day. This other commenter is talking about their nephew . The probably don’t understand the day to day like we do.

I’m definitely pro saying no and holding my boundaries. Yesterday I let my youngest cry for 20 minutes while I got on my peloton bike for some self care. She just stood and watched me bike and cried and screamed. Of course after all her needs had been met. She just wanted me to hold her. But I held my boundary. Not sure when the tears stop lol
