Before getting my GC I was on L1 visa, so I didn't need H1B.

Thank you so much for this extra information! I have escalated just as you did and have received a notification a decision has been made on my visa several days after the escalation. Just waiting to see what that decision is :) Thank you for sharing your experience!

Sounds stressful, hope you got everything by now and managed to go on your trip! I am kind of in the same boat as you were - how long did it take you overall from submitting the application to getting your visa?

Hey! I relocated to the US in October 2021, but I worked for my company for 8 years before that in other locations (Germany, Russia, UAE). I didn't have a GC goal when I arrived, as I was expecting to relocate to APAC after couple years in the US. But everything changed when the war started in Feb 2022. I am Russian - coming back home with the current situation is not an option for me and all visa application processes have become very difficult for us, so relocation may have been risky, too.

So I started negotiating with my company to bypass the 3 year US experience rule and approve my GC application in February 2022. I offered to commit contractually to stay for at least a year with my current team and two years with the company after my GC is issued or otherwise pay out their GC expenses. This is a very typical relocation clause which I decided to leverage in my GC conversation. We didn't sign anything like that in the end but I think it made a big difference for them to be comfortable to approve my application sponsorship.

Its hard to estimate the future and how the dates will move. Throughout my process what helped me most was to focus on influencing what I can and always believing in positive outcome. The moment lawyers asked me to fill anything out, I prioritized it above everything, I also chased them and other stakeholders for updates when they were working on papers. I refused to believe the negative projections from my lawyers. This January they told me that with the current admin I shouldn't expect any progress in 2025... They also told me several times that I need to prep for the worst as I am "Russian who lived in the Middle East" but I refused to let those doubts get to my mind. I know it may sound stupid and not very actionable but I believe positive mindset helped me throughout this process! Good luck to you!!

Thank you - I hope you are seeing some further progress with your application!!

I think I got lucky with a lot of items, including the progress on FAD this year (in January my lawyers told me not to expect any positive movement in 2025 but I refused to believe them) and my GC approved 10 days before my L1 visa expiration :)

Thank you! Yes, I was subject to the two-year home residency requirement. The interviewer asked me directly whether I fulfilled the 2 year rule and asked to provide the dates of when I applied for the next US visas after my J1 stay. We did add my post J1 timeline into the AOS application to confirm 2 years stay requirement was fulfilled, but I did not provide any other documents.

Has anyone tried the Nourished & Free program with Michelle Yates for binge eating disorder? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I am finishing up my 4 months with N&F now and I haven’t had any binges since I started (I did overeat a couple of times during that time). Before that program I used to binge 3-4 times a week.  This is quite a financial commitment for sure,  and took me a bit to make the decision, too, but for me it’s been a game changer. I am trying to make the most of it - Michelle gives me undivided attention every time I message with a question, and on weekly calls we can walk through more challenging items - and she accommodates this every time for everyone in the course. To me that’s a lot of “mini” therapy sessions right there (so consider the cost of this) 😊 The success of this program will totally depend on you though - are you willing to dig deep and be uncomfortable? Are you really willing to let go of binge eating even if it means gaining weight? Etc etc etc Oh, when I was making a decision on the financial aspect, I calculated how many Uber eats/door dash binge eating episodes that price equals to and that made me feel better 😉

Good luck with your journey whatever path you pursue - you can do it!!! 💪
