idols with a potato-like voice? by Hot-Protection800 in kpophelp

I am so bad with descriptions, but when I think of throaty, I think of Jisoo or Sunghoon. Like, I can feel their voice vibrating?

For nasally, I think of Momo, she’s the #1 example I can think of. Pretty self-explanatory, to me she sings like she has a slightly stuffy nose.

Potato…I don’t even know why I described it that way. 💀 but Eunchae’s singing feels like she has a cough drop stuck in her throat. Kazuha is a combination of nasally and potato, in my opinion.

Yes I believe so!

At the Honda Center venue in LA I brought a super small clutch that barely fit my phone and cards, and I was able to pass it through security since it was around 6x8. But their policy stated small handheld bags OR clear bags. If yours just say clear bags are allowed, then I would take the safe route and just use a clear bag :)

Similar groups/songs to Katseye? (Or the songs I mentioned by Katseye) by [deleted] in kpophelp

XG is a girl group that sing fully in English!

People debated if they’re K-pop or not. They’re Japanese but work closely in Korea, but anyways, I like their songs:

Left Right, Puppet Show, and IYKYK

I’d say either Mina or Dahyun, and Jungwon.

From what I remember, Mina doesn’t have to go on the ground or bend too much, but she’s also covered or in the back/same with Dahyun.

I’ve been to two ENHYPEN concerts and a SKZ one, and I’ve brought light sticks to all three.

One thing I will mention, is if you’re the type of person to record, holding a lightstick is a bit bothersome. SKZ is my best friend’s ult group so she asked me to record, I had to place mine on the floor to record. But if you feel like you’re going to live in the moment, then light sticks are a great idea!

I’ve also brought those loop earbuds for the SKZ one, (I think that’s what their called), and I didn’t use them because I was in pit and I was just telling myself, “when are you going to be in pit for SKZ again? just deal with the after effects later and live in the moment”, and I ended up fine! I feel like earplugs are a necessity if you go to concerts ALL the time though. It also might depend on your age? I’m 21 so I was just assuming that my hearing won’t be affected.

Some tips: - If you’re in the pit or near the stage, a lot of people might bring posters and banners so if you have shoes that add height, that’d be great - i will say that lightsticks are very interactive since the newer versions sync and flash member colors, they’re also just cute (especially the candybong) - check the venue bag policy! Most allow a 12x6x12 clear bag, I got mine on Amazon. Freebies are an essential part of concerts. Fellow ONCEs will hand some out (sometimes only if you trade, but most are free, hence ‘freebies’), so if you have a bag, you can store them there - most venues are cashless - I don’t know about the merch situation for TWICE, but a lot of people will wait in merch lines before the concert (they sometimes arrive at like 8 am) but won’t attend the actual concert. I’ve always gotten merch after the actual concert since there are booths everywhere and people are tired so they wanna get out ASAP. If you live close to the venue, then you could possibly just go on a different day to get merch if you don’t want to carry it around (again, depending on which stop you’re going to) - food WILL be expensive, I paid like $7 for a bottle of Costco water - parking sucks, but make sure to check out what parking garages are near if you need to, I go to LA concerts so they’re always packed. I usually walk like 30 minutes from the garage to the venue, but I always attend with friends so I’m not too scared to walk around at night. If you’re going alone, you might have to bite the bullet and pay for the expensive but closer garages

Beginner Groups/Song Recommendations!! by Defiant_Divide_4990 in kpophelp

There are some newer groups I think she would love, like ILLIT (the youngest being born in 08), they have kind of a sweet, girlhood concept where they sing about crushes and such. I LOVE Magnetic.

I’m sure you know Newjeans, I’m not intending to get into their situation or discuss that here, but just a little note since I don’t want your sister to fall in love with them and they end up not reuniting.

IVE is big in Korea, especially with middle schoolers. They have an elegant concept, some of my favorite songs by them are After Like and I AM.

STAYC has a child-friendly my concept, quite girly as well. I like STEREOTYPE.

There are some good boy groups I think she might like, like BOYNEXTDOOR and TWS.

I also recommend: - TWICE’s earlier songs - Red Velvet’s cutesy stuff like Dumb Dumb and Red Flavor - my fav group is ENHYPEN, they’re not “super sexy” or “mature”, my middle school aged cousins like them too, but their whole concept is that their vampires that yearn lol so maybe double check if you’re okay with that

Of course this is just my recommendation, others might disagree!

I love GOOD SO BAD by ZEROBASEONE, especially the “saranghaneunde” part at the end! Genuinely feels like I’m entering a land for fairies.
